"I rank Landson Construction #1 in the list of contractors we have hired in our 40 years of home ownership. Ari and his team of subcontractors recently completed a challenging remodel of one of our bathrooms--challenging because it is a very small area with limited space. Their finished job looks better than our separate remodel of a larger bathroom completed by one of the big firms that advertises daily on television. Examples: the tile work in our small shower is exceptional, and the vanity/oversized sink is a perfect match that does not dominate the small room. Ari Erickson (no relation to me) offered selections from his preferred vendors, but we had full latitude to shop on our own for all tile and fixtures. He and his subcontractors kept us fully apprised at all stages of the project, arrived promptly throughout the course of the work, responded promptly to our texts and emails, and cleaned up their work area at the end of each day. My highest recommendation: I always seek at least four bids for a major project, but I would forego that process and hire Landson Construction again for future building/remodeling projects, and would encourage friends and family to do the same."

"The team was very professional and the work was done within a reasonable time frame. I was notified when any hiccups in the schedule happened and was informed on every design decision and asked for approval. Amazing work around a bizzare unfinished basement layout."

"Awful. This company has good reviews but was absolutely awful for me. Called because of a water leak which is supposed to be one of their specialties. They had me hire a separate inspector/specialist to evaluate the home exterior. They then tore a hole in our kitchen ceiling looking for the water leak. When they had difficulty identifying the origin of the leak they simply abandoned the project with a hole in the middle of our kitchen ceiling. Finding water leaks is difficult and I don't blame for having difficulty locating the leak but abandoning the project with a gaping hole in our kitchen is really extraordinarily bad service."

"My wife and I called multiple contractors when it came to our basement remodel. Mike, at Regal Remodelers Inc, stood out to us and we chose him for our project. Mike was very responsive and made the whole process extremely easy and stress free. He worked with us on our vision, and it turned out exactly how we wanted it to. Antonio, his lead carpenter, was a pleasure to deal with and is extremely detail oriented. From always being on time, clearly taking pride in his work, and cleaning every day before he left, we couldnt have asked for more. Our basement turned out better than we could have imagined. If you have a home project, call Mike at Regal Remodelers Inc, you wont be disappointed. "

"Rick and his team are exceptional at what they do. From the quality, craftsmanship, communication, working with our budget, discussing options, timeliness…it was all superb. They built our entire home from the ground up and we couldn’t be happier with the process and how it turned out! They are true professionals and experts. Thank you Rick and team! "

"Paul and his team were fantastic! Every time you hire a contractor for something major there's always a little worry you are going to get "that" guy who disappears half way through the job. Klingbeil was completely professional and great to work with. When issues came up as they always do in a project of any size, they were able to deal with them. For instance, there was a rotted section of wall where the anchor for the old deck had been. Paul's team replaced the rotted section within the time and cost of the original bid. Their entire crew was courteous and respectful. Every night they cleaned up the job site. With two curious 11-year olds the minimal amount of construction debris was greatly appreciated. The 3-season room we ended up with is an amazing space. Paul took the concept we game him and created a high quality addition that is fun to be in. Despite a couple of surprises along the way, Paul finished the project within the original estimate and by the date he promised. Paul Klingbeil is a contractor you can hire without worry."

"The Project Manager kept us informed as to the crew's schedule and when there were any changes to the schedule. When the crew arrived, Matt introduced himself and was very willing to answer any questions we had during the process. They made sure to have any exposed portions of the roof covered thoroughly (in case of rain) when they left at the end of their day. We were very appreciative of how they covered up our landscaping with tarps. We enjoyed working with this crew. They worked very hard and completed the project in a timely fashion and the new roof looks great."

FAQs for remodel to accommodate a disability projects in Forest Lake, MN

Standard Medicare coverage often doesn't extend to home modifications, such as roll-in showers. In specific circumstances where medical necessity is clearly established, limited coverage might be available through certain Medicare programs. Many homeowners explore alternative funding sources such as home modification grants, veterans' benefits, or specialized financing programs designed for accessibility improvements. Consulting with a Medicare representative about your specific situation provides the most accurate guidance.

Roll-in showers deliver significant benefits beyond their monetary return, particularly in terms of safety, independence, and long-term accessibility. By eliminating barriers to bathing, these installations help prevent falls while accommodating mobility devices, such as wheelchairs or walkers. Their open design creates a contemporary appearance that appeals to many homebuyers. For households planning to age in place or accommodate family members with mobility challenges, the functional advantages often outweigh pure financial considerations.

A standard roll-in shower installation takes two to four days. Projects requiring extensive renovation or plumbing changes may take longer, potentially extending to several weeks or months. Factors affecting the timeline include existing bathroom configuration, permit processing times, contractor availability, and material delivery schedules. Creating proper drainage slopes often requires additional preparation time compared to traditional shower installations, particularly when modifying existing floor structures.
