"<p>Somehow my laptop corrupted the operating system and would not even boot up. Alexander Technical Resources (Spencer) came to my house to try to repair my computer. We decided that my computer needed to go to their repair facility for some serious work. They were able to save all my data, ran thorough diagnostics and repaired my computer. It was such a relief that I did not loose and data.</p> <p>This is the second time I have used them. The first was to set up this very laptop and transfer all the data from my old PC.</p> <p>I would recommend Alexander Technical Resources and will use them for any other computer repairs. </p> <p><br /></p> <br /> <br /> <br />"

"The person performing the service had to make several trips because one of the "new" parts turned out to be faulty. I found both Complete Protection and their local repair contractor to be both very responsive and totally professional at every stage of the repair process."

"A pleasant experience from start to finish. The quoting process was a good two-way discussion, and cordial - no pushy salesman telling you how bad Company X or Y was. Just honest, factual, and straightforward. They quoted us a system with the panels, racking, and inverter which we wanted, not what they were pushing. The quote wasn't the best (hence the 'B' for price) but it did offer the best VALUE when we considered the equipment specification and the stability of the company - an important consideration when looking at a system with a 25 year life! The installation was scheduled by our coordinator, Sherry, and the team showed up when promised and got the job completed on time. Quality of workmanship was first rate and the entire installation was done with care, and tidied away before the team left. Permitting and PG&E inspection were all handled by Sherry, and that was also quick and flawless. Overall, the system they installed easily meets their projections in terms of performance, and it effectively pays for itself. We really couldn't be more pleased with NRG Clean Power and have recommended them to friends and neighbors. We'd recommend you give them your consideration if your looking for solar power."

"Peter is great to work with!  We were having problems with the A/C unit not working.  He quickly diagnosed the problem and in the end we needed to replace the unit, along with the heating system.  I feel like he had a very fair price.  I also had a second job that Peter did for me to install to outdoor plugs.  Quality work for both jobs. <br /> He answers his phone, returns calls quickly and always arrived on time.  He's a guy you can trust to get the job done without issues.  I own the home and have renter's in the property. He gets the job done and sends me a bill. <br /> Great service.  Highly recommended! <br />"

"Pride Electric technicians checked out problems/explained and gave me an estimate. Agreed to have repairs...Owner Tim Pitts and four of his technicians fixed the electrical problems by replacing 20 broken outlets, 10 broken switches, replaced 2 smoke detectors, fixed main breaker pedestal and fixed wire eaten by rat(s) under the house. This took about 4 days ...they were thorough, very nice, professional, friendly, and didn't mind my fur baby Max. The worked hard and finished quickly, considering all that had to be done. They fixed the electrical problems whereas another electrical repair that came about 3 times, did not fixed completely as the problem resurfaced...thought the situation was hopeless as this electrician was recommended and in business for many years. I was very concerned as this mobile home is about 50 years old and wanted to know if the wiring was safe. Decided to try again and was able to find Pride Electric on Angie's list. I checked their reviews that were very favorable, called, and so glad I did. Not only did Pride Electric fix my electrical problem of about 5 years, the price was very cost effective and less costly as other electrical repair services. I highly recommend Pride Electric and will use them again!!!!"

"I sent an inquiry to Eric Olson about his minimum pricing and was responded to, via phone, by his sister Katrina. She was very knowledgeable and provided answers to all of my questions. <br /> We scheduled the repair and both Katrina and her husband Dennis arrived at the the scheduled appt. on time and with all of the supplies/tools necessary to complete my repairs. <br /> They were very professional and very thorough in making the repairs they were hired to do <br /> . <br /> They were were very personable and easy to work with. <br /> They made a point of telling me that if there were any leaks in my windows after their repair that I should contact them and they would take care of it. <br /> I only have this minor repair to leave feedback about at this time (it hasn't rained yet) but I can tell you that these two are hard-working, knowledgeable, dedicated, focused, detail-oriented and working to please their customers. <br /> I recommend them 100%. <br />"

FAQs for generator repair projects in Forest Ranch, CA

There is often some confusion about the type of work these professionals do. They only work on electrical systems such as outlets, lighting fixtures and electrical panels – they aren’t appliance repairmen.

There are three types of electricians: Master, Journeyman and Apprentice. Electrical licensing varies quite a bit by state. Some have licenses for apprentices and some do not. Some have a master’s rank while others stop at journeyman. Despite the differences, they all require a minimum amount of experience and usually classroom time.

  • Apprentice electricians aren’t usually licensed and spend 4 years learning the trade. Throughout that time, they work on a wide range of projects to learn to become a Journeyman. They’ll do basic work like installing fixtures and replacing outlets all the way to assisting in wiring a home. Regardless of the type of project, they must always be supervised by a Journeyman or Master electrician.

  • Journeymen work without supervision. In a few states, this is the highest level available and they can do all levels of work from wiring a new home to installing a light. In some states, they need a separate electrical contractor license to run a business. In places with a master’s level, a journeyman can do all work besides design new electrical systems.

  • Master electricians usually manage a shop, design new electrical systems in new construction and oversee both Journeyman and Apprentices. They typically bid new projects. Though they focus on larger projects, it’s not unheard of for a homeowner to request a Master Electrician for a house call. If you do, expect to spend up to 25% more for the visit.

Generally, you don’t tip electricians, but that’s not to say they don’t appreciate it if you do. You can offer them something to drink or eat, like coffee and donuts. Most will appreciate it if you do.

The education and certifications required to become an electrician vary by state, though they generally follow this list:

  1. Apprentice

    • Does not always require a license depending on the state.

    • Learns on the job under Journeyman and Master Electricians.

    • Usually needs 4 years on-the-job training before they can test for a Journeyman license. Many states also require a technical degree to advance.

    • Always require supervision.

  2. Journeyman

    • Needs between 8,000 to 10,000 hours of on-the-job training and usually 500 to 1,000 hours of classroom experience.

    • Can usually supervise apprentices.

    • They can diagnose and repair electrical problems.

  3. Master

    • Achieved after an additional two years (4,000 hours) working as a Journeyman and taking the Master Electrician Exam.

    • Besides diagnosing and repairing electrical systems, they also design them. In most places they run shops and inspect Journeyman and Apprentice work.

    • Not a recognized rank in all states.

  4. Electrical Contractor License is an optional license in some states for a Master Electrician to run a business. Some states have this instead of the Master license.

Electricians make an average of $26 per hour but it ranges with experience and licensing. An apprentice may make about half that while a Master Electrician may hit closer to $40 per hour. This figure represents how much they make; not how much they bill. Their salary is only one component of their costs. They must also figure in overhead, taxes, equipment, insurance and several other expenses.

Leave electrical work to the professionals. Electrical systems are complex and potentially hazardous when not handled and installed correctly. If it were easy, it wouldn’t take 4 years to become a journeyman or 6 years for a master’s license. If you are determined to forge ahead yourself, understand home electrical safety before beginning any project.Even for simple common electrical projects, a licensed pro is best. Not only is it safer, but contractors guarantee and insure their work. Hire a professional to keep your home’s electrical systems functioning properly and safely.
