Customers say: True professional

"Our floors look incredible. We're very happy with how quickly the demo for the existing tile and installation of new tile went. There were a few bumps in the process but Dimas was very responsive in helping resolve any issues. The contractors left our house pretty messy (with dust, nails, trash) and we had to ask them to come back out a few times to clean up. Dimas ended up sending out a separate cleaning company to clean up which we were very happy with. Our biggest issue was the state they left our newly painted walls in. We had just painted our entire house before having our floors installed (in hindsight I definitely don't recommend doing things in this order) and they left them with several scrapes and dings in each room. We now have to have our entire house repainted. They didn't really take responsibility for the condition of the walls and even said it wasn't their fault. For those of you who have just painted or don't plan on repainting after flooring installation, I'd caution you with using this company. Otherwise, they did a great job with our floors."

Small jobs welcome

"Excellent! Irvin was always there for at any time replying within minutes and helping secure the permit as well which was stressful for me but he and his assistant Raquel buried my stress. I interviewed 11 supposedly professionals from many websites and these people were legit and did a great job. If you have a demo job and don’t interview One Miami Demo you’re missing it. They even met with City of Miami Unsafe Structures, Building Dept. AND Enviornmental for me to support my e-mails to those departments; sooo worth it just can’t say enough after being screwed by other contractors."

Small jobs welcome

"Demolition and removal of two walkways: Chuck and his helper were very accommodating and respectful. He called to learn more about the project, set up a time to come see it, called to let me know he was on his way and did not ever leave me hanging. Quoted the job at a very reasonable price. We needed to get the job done in a short period of time and he said he could do the work the following morning at 8:30 am. Arrived at 8:00 am and started promptly at 8:30 am. Worked straight thru in the rain and never missed a beat. Cleaned up the site afterwards and left us in very good shape for our next phase of work. Very professional, courteous, and fair. My husband and I highly recommend this organization; they work very hard and do not disappoint."

FAQs for demolition projects in Fort Lauderdale, FL

A professional kitchen demolition takes an average of eight hours (one working day) for standard projects. More complex jobs involving structural changes might require up to two days.

Factors that extend the timeline include discovering hidden damage, encountering hazardous materials, or removing load-bearing elements. DIY demolitions take considerably longer, often several days to a week, due to learning curves and limited equipment access.

Salvaging kitchen materials can be worthwhile if the components are in good condition. Cabinets, appliances, fixtures, and certain flooring types can be donated to organizations like Habitat for Humanity or sold through online marketplaces.

This approach reduces landfill waste and may provide tax benefits or offset some demolition costs. However, careful removal takes more time, so weigh potential returns against the additional labor involved.

On demolition day, expect noise, dust, and temporary utility disruptions. Crews will systematically remove fixtures, cabinets, appliances, and targeted surfaces. Protective coverings should be installed to prevent dust from spreading to other areas.

The space will be unusable during this process, so plan alternative arrangements for food preparation. By completion, all designated elements will be removed and debris cleared, leaving a blank canvas for your renovation.

Removing load-bearing walls without professional assistance is extremely risky and not recommended. These walls support critical structural weight, and improper removal can cause ceiling sagging, floor damage, or even catastrophic collapse.

Professional projects require structural engineer assessment, proper temporary supports, permanent beam installation, and building permits. The safety risks and potential for expensive structural damage far outweigh any cost savings from DIY approaches.
