"I hired Joe and Tony Landscaping over 10 years ago to design my front yard landscape. I told Dan (college educated in landscape design) that I wanted my yard to have 4 season interest. I also mentioned that I wanted low maintenance plantings. I was blown away with the finished project. I have trees that bloom and produce berries at different times in spring. Roses blooming in summer. Tall grasses that bloom and turn red in fall. He installed beautiful ground cover and hardscape. My neighbors were inspired to upgrade their own yards. One neighbor mentioned that the landscape design made my house look like a different house. When I hired Dan I met with several other landscape designers. Everyone gave me a similar price quote but Dans design was far and away the best bang for the buck. I contacted Dan in Feb/March of this year. I needed some updates to the yard. Some plantings were getting too large and a few bushes were damaged by ice damns that fell from the roof. He responded immediately. Made suggestions and quoted a price. I also got a second quote from another company. Again, both quotes were very similar. I hired Joe and Tony again for the job. I made my down payment and as soon as the plantings were delivered by the nurseries Dan called and gave me an installation date. I called him several times throughout this project to make a change here or there. He always answered the phone. Was always understanding if we wanted to change something. The men who did the work were polite, pleasant and always cleaned up at the end of the day. I’ve hired Joe and Tony Lanscaping twice and would hire them again. If you have a project give them a call and see what creative ideas they come up with."

"After the Chicago Blizzard dumped over 2' of snow on my lakefront neighborhood, the snow was 3' deep in our alley and against the garages. No private service would plow the entire alley unless for a condo assoc., which we aren't. Seemed pointless to have the garage dug out until the alley was plowed. City first said we'd all have to "pitch in and clear the alleys" ourselves, but then ran a garbage truck w/plow through overnight, piling up even more snow against the garage. I called several services you'd listed. Only Mancera Bros.answered. I spoke to Doro, and he said they could dig out the garage door but would have to wait till late in the day because they were on a distant job. Called to remind them only once. When they were w/in 1/2 hr of my house his bro. Jorge called back for detailed directions. Arrived in early evening--by then the city had sent a Sno-Cat through to compact the snow in which the garbage trucks had left deep ruts & high ridges. Jorge was a bit shocked at first by the scope of the job, but together we figured out where on my property he could redeposit the snow without inconveniencing my neighbors (who have lived through this nightmare and had tried earlier to dig out the alley by hand). He hesitated to quote me $250, but I was delighted to pay it. He had warned he might have to come back next day to finish, but he and his snowblower did the job perfectly within 2 hrs. Because of him, my husband could finally drive home from his offices on the S. Side & Oak Lawn, where he'd had to stay several nights at considerable expense due to both Lake Shore Dr.closure & alley/garage debacle; and I can get my car out of the garage. Highly recommend him and would definitely use Mancera Bros. again (but hope we never need another project this big in our lifetime)."

"Standard work, the fertilizer and weed treatment was outstanding. Very efficient and effective. The aeration and seeding were another issue. Required multiple phone calls and monitoring. It would seem that the staff have communication and followthrough problems when there is a variation from standard. I wanted only one section of the lawn to have a double aeration and seeding. That took four phone calls to get done. Aeration was supposed to be done and was not for several weeks during the extended dry spell. Was told to water the lawn for twenty minutes and they would be there on Monday. Spent the weekend moving a sprinkler around the 1/4+ acre lot to meet the specs. No one came for the next entire week! Called again on Friday and finally showed up on the next Monday. Have signed a contract for both aeration, weed treatment, and fertilizer for 2018 because was very happy with the basic package. But if there are similar problems with the aeration next year, will not be renewing for 2019"
