"Terrific experience! Very knowledgeable, efficient work practices and nice people. Working conditions were not as ideal as should have been, moving from room to room, but they adjusted their schedule to meet ours. The clean-up was perfect. I would recommend Elite Tile and Marble at a heartbeat. Great company, great people!!"

"We had our old tile removed in our lanai and new tile installed. Jonathan gave us a great deal for the materials and the labor costs. He was able to schedule the work right away! His installer came demolished the tile in the lanai, took the old tile away and cleaned up the area. He came the next day and laid the tile in one day. The following day he grouted the tile. The installer did excellent work and finished everything in a timely manner. We were very happy with the results. We would definitely recommend TMP for any tile work."

"Highly recommend! We have been needing grout repair in our kitchen and multiple bathroom/shower areas for quite some time. Steve and his assistant did such an amazing job. He arrived on time, was professional, communicated clearly throughout the project, and finished the extensive amount of work in a very timely manner. I am so relieved to finally have this work taken care of and I would absolutely use Steve again for any projects in the future."

"Beautiful work just have to make sure it's done exactly how you want it done. Tried to cut corners to save time and we had to explain how it needs to be corrected and not cut corners. Otherwise beautifully done."

FAQs for tile: ceramic and porcelain repair projects in Fort Myers Beach, FL

People use the terms refinishing, resurfacing, and reglazing interchangeably. Refinishing is a process that repairs old tiles and gives them a fresh new coat of finish. This is also called tile resurfacing or reglazing.

Yes, you can refinish tiles as a DIY project, but it’s important to follow all the steps involved. These include the following:

  1. Clean the tiles or hire a local tile cleaning service to remove all the residue (soap film, oil, grease, and dirt).

  2. Etch the tile to ensure the refinishing solution adheres properly.

  3. Fill in any cracks or chips in the tile.

  4. Recoat the grout.

  5. Repair any missing or damaged caulking where applicable.

  6. Apply the refinishing product, primer, and enamel.

Your newly reglazed tile should last between 10 and 15 years with proper installation. However, higher-traffic areas and moisture may result in a reduced life span. Explore the cost of different tile types to determine which material works best for your home and needs.

Your bathtub and tile refinishing cost will likely seem like a small price to pay for the transformation it offers. Provided your tile and grout are both intact, refinishing will bring a brand-new style at a fraction of the cost.

Yes, most ceramic tile is paintable with specific epoxy or tile paints. However, you’ll want to avoid areas of heavy use or moisture, such as countertops, showers, and bathtubs. Paint can crack, bubble, or wear away over time, especially on floors.
