"We hired Dr. Sweep to inspect and clean our chimney. They offered a $100 discount so we paid $250. The tech presumably cleaned our chimney and suggested $3000 worth of work we should have done to our chimney. Right after our first fire, the entire house smelled of burning wood for days. We used a creosote log to clear the smell, which it partially did. The next time we used our fireplace, the smell lasted for a week. We contacted Dr. Sweep and the tech who cleaned our chimney, Randy, responded that such smell can happen and listed potential causes, none of which were applicable. After I responded with that explanation, the tech suggested that we switch to a gas fireplace. I then went back to Angi and found another company, CJW Chimney, that just completed to clean our chimney.
