"Lazaro and his crew members, Fidel, William, and Issac, transformed our back yard from being a dirty and unpleasant hellscape where my wife and I never spent any time to being a beautiful and clean space where we can host parties, cookouts, and relax. The crew was extremely professional, organized, thoughtful, experienced, efficient, and communicative throughout the course of the project. I was quite impressed with their design and planning skills, extensive experience, and passion for their work. My wife and I own a small row house with a small back yard, which presented unique challenges to the crew: no back yard access except through neighbors’ properties. The crew handled this challenge well by being communicative and friendly with my neighbors and always cleaning up the space at the end of each working day. They always ensured that the fencing and hardscaping looked good from both sides of the property line, so that my neighbors were also happy! Another challenge was that an adjacent property is about 3 feet above grade and not pleasant to look at from our yard. Lazaro’s planning and vision for a beige brick half-wall, topped with wooden lattice flower boxes was a great finishing touch that provided a beautiful transition between the red brick paver patio and the elevated wooden fence to block the view of the adjacent property. The crew carefully planned their work from the beginning, so that there were no surprises at the end as the finishing touches were put on and the fence was erected. My wife and I are also confident that the money we spent on this work will be a great investment—not only for enjoying our new home, but also in the resale value some day in the future. "We've now worked with Diversified Contractors twice and have enjoyed the experience both times. In terms of pricing, quality of work, and ease to work with and modify a design during a build, you can't go wrong. We worked with Mike, and have recommended him to our family and neighbors and all have the same experience. We can be picky and demanding of any project for this kind of spend, and we solicited multiple bids each time (2 years apart), and DC was still the best. My neighbors are already asking who we used and the compliments flood everytime we have a gathering on the patio. No brainer. Go with DC."

"I do not normally write reviews, but I feel like I should let other people know about this company. I could write an entire essay on my experience with them but I will try and keep it short. I hired HL to redo my entire front lawn with new walkways, retaining walls, plants, mulch, and trees. I spent over $17,000 and thought I was getting a great deal. Dave and his group were very nice at first but once work had begun things quickly changed. They would say nice stuff to my face but I would catch them saying bad things about me behind my back. They had horrible communication with me, they rushed to get to the next job, and I had several problems with their work. The amount of stress they caused me was truly unfair to me. I eventually got most of the problems fixed. One of those problems was they did not install weed fabric under all my beds as discussed. They came back and fixed it but did a horrible job. They also put barely enough mulch back to cover the fabric and dirt so now I have a literal jungle in most areas. I was not happy before I paid but no amount of money is worth the issues they caused me. They even put grass seed in the mulched areas that are now grass. I would have tried to get them to come back out for the fourth time but it is not worth the stress. I expect a little maintenance but my yard looks nothing that was agreed to. I will have to fix it myself in the spring but I had to write this review because everyday I look at my yard and I am not pleased. Reading the other reviews makes mine stick out but I would not recommend them. Spend your money on a better company. UPDATE: Owner reached out to remedy the issue. They came out and pulled out all old mulch, weed, and weed fabric and replaced them. Looks much better. They seem to have taken more care this time and I hope it works. Fabric seems to have been put down better with more mulch too. I hope the mulch is deep enough with a combination of fabric to stop most weeds in the spring."

"These folks are top-notch. My yard was a bit of a mess after a patio project that left mounds of dirt by the tree line in the backyard. Also, the yard runs wet anyway with a natural creek that runs through the property. JD, the owner, came out to estimate what re-grading the yard would cost so that the water could be diverted away from the house. He was thorough, professional, down to earth and honest. The bid was reasonably priced and I appreciated having options: he gave me various estimates for less versus more work. Ultimately, I decided to do everything at once so that I could put any potential drainage issues to rest. The team came out as scheduled and they handled it all very well and efficiently. They definitely knew what they were doing and they instilled me with confidence from the start. The project took a day and a morning, and my yard is now BEAUTIFUL. I am so glad the boys can play in what was a mud pit. And now we all can appreciate the landscape without having to worry about water being where it's not supposed to be. I'm so glad and grateful I chose this company to help us with our home. They were terrific!"
