"If you would like a very thorough honest review please read this.If you want a condensed version it's if you hire this guy make so you watch him like a hawk.Don't believe what he says where he needs to do his work and check up on him later. This is false.Pay attention to EVERYTHING they are doing / taping or not taping off etc. before they start to paint.I wouldn't recommend him since he acted like a child at the end and now won't even call me back. I was called by Alex literally 2 minutes after I hit submit on home advisor asking for painters. We set up an aptmt the next day at 10 am. He called back about 4 hours later which he left a voicemail asking to set up an appointment. He never showed up the next day so I called. He said he could send his son immediately, but I said just reschedule. He came the next day at the same time as the other estimator even though he had a different apt time. I went with him because he seemed to have the best reviews and also the most reviews over the other guy although more expensive. Alex also said he was having computer issues and it happens so that's fine. Alex said his guys would take everything off of the house before they paint including the downspouts which is what I wanted. He said they would also paint all of my door trim and my garage man door along with caulk everything and nail down all high spots. I had 2 requests:make sure everything is removed from the house and DO NOT paint the steel that I have on the sides of the house that are scaring away the woodpeckers and drier vent. Things they did wrong: *Painted over my drier vent and steel I told them not to. Now drier lint sticks to the paint all the time and looks like garbage. Don't paint over a drier vent ever. *Never removed cable lines or phone lines from house-told to remove and when removed never reinstalled properly or at all. Take a photo of your stuff they are taking down to make sure they put it back up properly. They never reused the same screw holes either and made new ones and never filled the old ones. *Left holes in wood that are obvious and bugs can get in *Never removed 3 of 4 lights from house before painting and moved them so they weren't level while taping. *Never reinstalled top down spout brackets *Painted over 1 water spicket, not the other 3, half painted 2 others. eyesore *Broke house numbers upon removal *Got paint on vinyl windows and soffits in spots and instead of removing, painted back over with white paint so it looked like trash. Paint never matched vinyl or steel color so told them to remove all with cleaner and only got half of the spots cleaned. *Never painted trim on front door, side door trim not fully painted only partially and then it started to peel off when they took the tape off *Didn't tape off stairs properly and got paint on my brand new refurbished stairs that were just finished 2 days prior to him starting. Ruined the paint and sealcoat. Can't be fixed will cost at least 500 for repair of the stairs. *Never painted all spots pointed out for touch up - over 90 missed spots total only repainted about 20. Numerous spots left that are abundantly clear to see. Some more minor, but still missed none the less and can be seen if looking. *Missed caulking spots that he pointed out to me and told he would fix. Never nailed boards he pointed out either *When came back to caulk and paint behind lights he never waited for caulk to dry before painting so there is white caulk on the side of the garage smeared around, painted behind lights and didn't wait to dry immediately reinstalled. Now paint peeled when changed lights out. I paid him after taping off all imperfections since I needed to go to work and wouldn't be there when he was finished and he assured me he would get it all. Didn't finish even half of what was needed to be done and won&#..."

FAQs for asphalt sealing projects in Fruitland Park, FL

If you live in a mild climate, you may only need to seal the surface every three years. If you live in extreme heat or cold, you should seal your driveway every other year to protect it from sun or winter weather damage. Consider the frequency of sealing a driveway when purchasing a home in an area with extreme weather.

Sealing your driveway between spring and fall in optimal warm and dry weather conditions maximizes its protection and extends its lifespan. Moderate temperatures allow the sealant to bond properly with the asphalt surface, ensuring a durable seal. Avoid sealing during extreme heat, cold, rain, or snow, as these conditions can prevent the sealant from curing correctly.

An asphalt filler sealer is a product that fills cracks while simultaneously sealing the asphalt surface, providing comprehensive protection in one application. It's ideal for repairing minor damage and preventing future issues. When selecting the best asphalt filler sealer, consider factors such as drying time, durability, environmental impact, and compatibility with your existing asphalt. Choose a high-quality product that fits your budget and meets your driveway's specific needs to ensure long-lasting results.

Maintaining your coated blacktop is essential for its longevity. Clean your driveway thoroughly twice a year using a stiff broom and a pressure washer to remove dirt, debris, and stains. Reseal the surface when required, every two to three years, to keep it protected. Avoid parking on a newly sealed driveway for at least two weeks. Prevent oil and gas spills, and promptly repair cracks or damage to prevent them from worsening. Removing snow and ice promptly can also protect your asphalt from freeze-thaw damage.

Preventing cracks in your driveway starts with regular maintenance. Clean your driveway thoroughly twice a year to remove debris and identify any budding issues. Seal your driveway every two to three years to protect it from water infiltration, UV damage, and wear from traffic. Promptly repair any small cracks to prevent them from expanding. Avoid parking heavy vehicles on the edges of your driveway and ensure proper drainage to reduce stress on the asphalt or concrete. These proactive steps help maintain the integrity of your driveway and extend its lifespan.

Absolutely. You don't need to be restricted to the standard blacktop asphalt. These days, you can find this material in exciting colors like brown, white, green, brick, terracotta, and more. If you have a color in mind, shop around to find the option that suits your vision for your asphalt driveway.
