"My cost was $500 as Allstate paid the rest. Price was about the same as other bids. These people were recommend by Allstate Insurance. They did a good job and cleaned up everything.  <br /> DO. Call your insurance company first and have them send out their inspector. <br /> DO. Have the work done local. <br /> Do not waste your time with people who want to inspect your roof after a storm. Call your Insurance Company if you think you may have a problem. <br />"

"Thompson Roofing is the best of the best in our area. Thompson Roofing maintained excellent contact with me up until my appointment, they arrived before the appointment time, and were incredibly friendly. They answered every question I had and when it’s time to replace the roof, I won’t pick anyone else!"

"Our "only" negative comment about Ground Zero Shelters is that they do not come to a persons residence to give the sales pitch and demonstration. You must go to their showroom or see their product at a home show. This being said, we were extremely happy with the sales experience, reminders and installation of our shelter. They called about 10 days prior to the installation for a reminder, their installers called the day before and the morning of the installation to remind us that they would be at our home at the designated time. They showed up as promised and were completed with the installation in less than 1 1/2 hours time! Thank you Ground Zero!"

"Called twice and setup 2 appointments. Did not show for either appointment. Didn't call to say he wasn't going to make either appointment. Didn't apologize when I called after he missed the first appointment. Eventually Dennis showed up and looked at the roof. The estimate matched the final price. He must have taken 5 phone calls during the 20 minutes he was at the house which was a little ignoring. Anyway we set the date for the repair, which he missed. After calling and reminding him that he missed the date, this time he did apologize and set a new date. The roof is fixed (it was a minor repair) and it looks like they did a very good job. So basically you need to stay on Dennis to keep his attention but they did a good job."

"Right from the first phone call, they were very responsive and professional. Got an estimate right away. Even worked with neighborhood association to find the best acceptable materials. Originally scheduled for a two day project but they arrived very early, had a very large crew, removed and replaced entire roof, did the extras we contracted for, all in one day. Came the next day to check everything and do an additional magnet sweep of the property. Cleanup was very good. No damage to scrubs or trees. <br />"

"I love the scent of clothes and sheets dried outside, so when I purchased my home 3 years ago, I also bought a set of clothesline poles for my backyard. Well, time got away, and it took 3 years, but I finally found the perfect spot for my clothesline. I checked Angie's List and found 2 listings. One never responded to my request. All Chores No More called the very next day and Chase came to my house and gave me an estimate. He arrived on time the day of the work, dug the holes, poured the cement, and mounted the posts with a little help from me. He created braces to hold the poles in place until the cement could set up and showed me how to just pull them out of the ground a couple of days later. I've been using the clothesline weekly and am extremely happy with the job! I have a few more tasks in mind for later in the summer and will definitely contact Chase again. <br />"

"We are very happy with the results of Aarow Building's work. From day one with the estimate and getting to talk to Jake, to the last day's walk through, I always knew I was dealing with intelligent, practical people that knew what they were doing and why they were doing it. <br /> Recommendations were always appropriate and confirmed with previous installations (spray in insulation is amazing!) and never seemed like a method of making more money. <br /> The crew were also very respectful of the house, our property and time. I came into the project a little leery of having random people in my home every day, by themselves. By about the first week, those fears were gone and those guys were awesome. Nothing to worry about at all. <br /> Timeliness was impressive as this is a small company and they were balancing quite a few projects. Our project was taken care of in a time frame that we agreed upon and was never left on a back-burner. <br /> Payments were made during the project (over the course of several months) and was something we agreed upon as well. There was never any pressure and the division of payments made sense. <br /> All in all, we couldnt be happier. It was a signficant amount of money to spend but since installation we've basically been living in our basement. Just thrilled. Had our first Thanksgiving in the room, a Christmas party, New Years eve party...and with plans for a Super Bowl party as well. Money well spent, no regrets. <br />"

"Ernie Haas provided a very thorough examination of our roof which enabled us (after much back and forth with our roofer (DCF Contracting)) to ensure that all necessary and required repairs were made to our roof. Mr. Haas stayed in contact with us for more than a month to ensure that any questions or issues we had were addressed."

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Fulton, MO

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
