"Ron took care of us so well. He installed a very expansive drainage system in our backyard since it was flooding consistently last August, and now almost a year later it still works perfectly. We have had awful rains this year, but no flooding at all. I highly recommend him!!!"

6 employees. Uses Licensed subs for irrigation, lighting, brick work and carpentry. You plant around your design, not design around your plants. Confusing? Upon meeting with a new client, most people will typically tell me of their favorite plant(s). Putting plants in the lead position of the design process will guarantee you a landscape that resembles your neighbors and every other house on the street and across the community. It’s like determining the colors you will use in your new house and you haven’t yet designed the house! Like colours, plants are a medium. You must provide context in order to give meaning. This is the hardscape or ‘bones’ referred to in garden literature. Be it a simple graveled path, a grouping of boulders, or obedient deference to existing topography, this is what will provide year-round interest. It is also the framework that will suggest and therefore help you choose which plants and their placement. The end result is an aesthetic and harmonious integration of hardscape and softscape elements. The Walkabout Way acknowledges the on-site environmental realities (ecozone, drainage, sun, shade etc..) and integrating these along with the clients desired outside intentions (active/passive use) as the basis for formulating a design theme. The end result is a naturalistic approach that is environmentally and ecologically sensitive, yet aesthetically pleasing regardless of the season.

A standard landscape curbing job requires between 180 and 300 square feet of curbing material. Still, contacting a local landscape edging service is always best to ensure you get the correct amount. Guesswork could cost you more than necessary and lead to financial and literal headaches if you have to correct errors later on.
Once your landscaper has prepped the area, it takes less than an hour for them to pour a concrete curb. Including preparation, most curbing installation jobs take no more than one full day to complete. Be sure to get a duration estimate from your landscaping professional if you’re on a tight timeline.
Concrete edging lasts 10 to 30 years with the proper care. Local climate, soil movement, and the quality of surface maintenance all play a role in its lifespan. Keep an eye out for cracks, seal them promptly, and clean the curb line each season to prevent staining. A landscaping pro can recommend long-term care steps to help your edging stay strong and attractive for decades.
No-dig edging, such as steel edging with push-in spikes, stands as the easiest method to install. It comes in long spans or rolls and pushes firmly into the ground, significantly reducing installation time. This method minimizes labor and guarantees secure, efficient placement, resulting in a flawless finish with minimal effort.
Choosing the right landscape edging material depends on your home’s style, maintenance preference, and overall budget. Materials such as concrete, brick, and granite offer exceptional durability and longevity, while wood provides a distinctive, rustic appeal but requires more upkeep. Evaluate lifespan, aesthetic value, installation ease, and upkeep requirements to select the best option for your property.
The optimal time to install landscape curbing is during mild weather conditions when the soil is neither frozen nor overly wet. Proper weather ensures flawless curing and efficient installation. Scheduling your project during a favorable season can enhance its durability and performance. Adhering to seasonal guidelines guarantees a secure installation and impressive curb appeal.
