"Within a day or two of our inquiry, owner/manager Kyle Hodges was here to evaluate our problem and give an estimate for the work he discussed with us. Although we live in a townhouse, the record-breaking Maryland rainfall and the slant of the front lawn toward our foundation had caused serious water build up at our foundation and threat to overflow into the basement.. For several weeks we had been bailing rainwater round the clock from the trench that had formed at the front of our home and using dozens of paper towel rolls to absorb water. Kyle saw the seriousness of the problem, brought his co-worker Matt who would do the work to help plan their project and scheduled a date. Matt was excellent and very thorough. So far the work they did has solved the problem successfully, and we look forward to their return in the spring for more corrective landscaping. "Kurt (Distinct Landscapes) performed an exception makeover to our property. We have owned our home for 20 years, with an eye on a landscape design to the house front - that pops. What we inherited were azaleas and christmas trees that continued to grow more expansive over the years. I provided Kurt with my budget and blessing to take the necessary design/purchase/installation steps necessary to dazzle. He did not disappoint! Kurt was a joy to work with, paying several visits to our property to discuss proposed layout and educate newcomers concerning the finer points of horticulture - in laymen's terms. He was extremely responsive to preferences and concerns and made several modifications of his own - before installation date. What a makeover - Korean Boxwoods, Dward Red Barberries, Goldmound Spireas, Nandina Domestica, Chery Laurels Knockout Roses, A Purple Crape Myrtle and Dragon Lady Holly species ... to name a few. Kurt did not overcrowd the design, but allowed sufficient spacing for future growth ... definitely planning for the longer range investment. With his selection, he also ensured more diverse colors over a greater portion of the calendar year. "Mark and his crew did an amazing job. Some highlights: 1) Mark's proposal was the most reasonable of the three we received. 2) Mark provided some design options and suggested we go to the local stone store to be sure we got what we wanted. We appreciated his suggestions as well as his respect for our choices. 3) Mark's crew was always courteous and thorough. They also cleaned up each day and happily hosed down our neighbor's driveway per his request. 4) A few times throughout the process we had new ideas to which Mark provided his advice and updated cost estimates. For an additional $850 we were able to add more value to the final product. All told, Mark and his team built four retaining walls, installed a patio under our deck, installed a landing pad outside our pool (with the extra pavers from the deck project), installed a paver walkway between our under-deck patio and the pool, regraded the yard, seeded and strawed the yard, and replanted some perennials that were displaced in the regrading. 5) Mark always kept us updated on progress - particularly important in this rainy spring."

"They are very good. They cut the grass last Monday. We used them regularly. The approximate cost of service I think it was $43 a week. That's for the lawn timing and that's once a week when it is needed. The other thing they do is they fertilize the yard and seed it and then before they do that they spray the weeds and then just about a little less than a month ago they cleaned the yard, the leaves and twigs that are fallen and stuff and like that. We used them for everything yard work. It's kinda like a process then they do kind of everything and the sum result cut the lawn and things like that. They are very professional. They are always on time. I wish it cost a little less but I think that's the way it goes with lawn care. It's really a good job so pretty satisfied with everything. The quality of work is very good. They are very good because they have those blower things so the driveway is always clean. They do the edging and then driveway is always because they blow any grass away so it's always neat. I pay $43 a week whenever they cut the grass. Now, if we did find that they don't need to cut it, it's raining or whatever they have to charge for that so we will be charged and actually cut it. It does add up if you don't think it does but it does add up after the end of the month. They bill you monthly. Yes, I think this is our third season with them."
