"The Chubb Co. used a compact power digger to reach my clogged footer drain and were very careful to install new PVC pipe at the proper slope to my drain to the street. They put 3 coats of two kinds of sealer on the walls. And they discovered that a previous cement installation had been poured under my back door sill. They corrected this code violation by removing the cement and rebar and rebuilding, with bricks, the top of the foundation under the door sill. They did not charge me extra for this little "surprise". They cleaned and tested the drains that go to the street drains. Additionally they removed, to the first joint, the old driveway concrete and the short sidewalk which is on the same level as the driveway. And they installed two new cleanout pipes where the new work joins the old drains. They kept the area clean after each day's work and answered any questions I had as they proceeded. All four guys were pros at what they did! And they arranged for a local HVAC company to move and reinstall my AC. This was an additional charge. The contract was precise and they did everything as written and even beyond with the rebuild of the door sill. The concrete and last of the topsoil will be installed this Monday or Tuesday."

"Excellent! I called Thompson's Masonry for an estimate on chimney work. Bob came out within 45 minutes of the phone call and determined that we needed some repairs on our chimney, not a complete rebuild as had been told to us by other companies that had come out (rebuild prices ranging from $1500 to over $4000!). He also pointed out some tuckpointing that needed done on other brick on our house. He said he could do the work the next day. The price and timing were perfect, so we hired him. He showed up the next morning when he said he would (he was even a little early...bonus points!) and worked all day. He communicated with me throughout the day re: the progress. He was always courteous, respectful, and just a nice guy! The whole process was a positive one. The finished chimney and tuckpointing look great! I am so thankful I found Thompson's Masonry on Angie's List and we have already recommended him to friends who need masonry work. "Outstanding, professional crew. Previously did a 5-star basement finishing renovation for us which we reviewed on Angi in March 2021. This time we had wallpaper removal and interior painting done, all excellent. Jim did a kitchen gas stove and fridge repair for us. He repaired and replaced two lights and a room fan for us. Laundry room and second bathroom flooring was replaced and updated. Replaced a gutter downspout. Built two patio access stairs which was a big improvement. Did an outstanding job getting our house ready to show for sale. Well above & beyond all our expectations. Jim & his crew are timely, very reliable, thorough and completely professional."
