"On 1/2/2013, I had a service call with another company.  They wanted to charge $845.50 to repair my broken heat pump.  This seemed very high so I decided to get a second quote. <br /> I called Blue Ridge Heating and AC at around 2:00pm.  They said they'd try to get someone out that afternoon.  Unfortunately, another job ran long and they weren't able to make it that afternoon.  The person I spoke with on the phone asked about the problem (heat pump freezing over), asked for the model number, and asked what the other company thought the problem was.  I answered all his questions and he agreed that the defrost control board and sensor were likely bad.  He said he'd order the parts and come by first thing the next morning.  He provided a quote of approximately $250. <br /> The following morning, the technicians arrived on time.  They thoroughly inspected the system, verified the diagnosis, and performed the repair.  The entire process took about an hour. <br /> Blue Ridge Heating and AC did an all around excellent job.  Their professionalism, expertise, and competitive prices were all the more appreciated given the shady sales tactics, disappointing responsiveness, and high price of the other company I contacted.  I definitely plan to use Blue Ridge Heating and AC for future HVAC service. <br />"
