"Our newly purchased house has a musty smell. I called Mold Men and they responed promptly and came in 3 days. Matt checked the whole house and attic, he did not see the visible mold and suggest me to get other air duct cleaning service to clean the air which sounds the appropraite solution. I smelled the musty smell in attic and told him it might have roof leak. He could easly agreed with me and told me the attic need to be treated. But he said no sign of mold. So I think the company is trustful"

"They were professional and on time. They cared about our house and put down tarps and stuff to walk on. They did an excellent job on the installation and were helpful in explaining how the system worked. They went over all the components that they installed. From what I can tell, they did a neat job. They had to break a window to vent to the outside. They didn't clean up the broken glass on the outside of the house, but it was probably just an oversight."

"It was great !! <br /> I was camping alone with my dog and horse and the temperature was well over 90 degrees. In the middle of the afternoon, out of no where, I smelled something burning and then my air conditioning stoppped working and made a terrible noise.  I was frantic !  After spending over an hour on the phone trying to locate someone that works on motor homes and campers and that would come to my camp, I finally reached Bowen's.  Mike Bowen promptly came to check my situation.  He quickly diagnosed my problem and got my air conditioner up and running well again.  Although the unit was working well, because the motor home is 13 years old, I asked him if he could replace my unit.  Mike ordered me the new unit and replaced it the next time I went to my camp.  I asked him to check other concerns I had with my motor home and found him to be very knowledgable with motor homes and campers. <br /> Mike is very trustworthy, knowledgable, professional  and reliable.  I highly recommended him to eveyone in my campground.  I was so very fortunate to find him and will use him for all my repairs. <br /> I highly recommend Bowen's HVAC service.  <br /> <br /> <br />"

"The installation began the week after we signed the contract and was a functioning system after the 1st day. One installer returned the second day to finish up and install the humidifier completing installation in 2 days. The 'new' heat pump pad was a cement pad leveled underneath with stones and placed on top of and extending beyond the old heat pump base. I wasn?t sure how this arrangement would hold up in the winter so I held off on writing this review until now and the base has been fine so far. Overall the installation was done very well and the refrigerant lines were replaced with new ones (some estimates <br /> we had received from other companies used the old lines).  The only glitch in the project was the door for the new filter box which the installers told me required 2 sheet metal screws to keep it in place. After the installers had left I realized the door <br /> had 2 ?hinge tabs? which must slip inside one side of the frame to fit properly, (without additional screws) which is why the quality score was a 'B'. Overall we are very happy with the new system and have seen about a 30% reduction in our electric bills and I'm impressed with how the heat pump is still putting out heat with the temperature in the single digits. The thermostat is full of features and very configurable and includes real time weather forecast and outside temperature and is capable of being controlled and monitored remotely via smart phone or computer. The new system operates much better than the old one with the wood stove that we use in the cold weather. There was an additional $1200 rebate from PPL that further reduced the price (as well as a $675 Bryant rebate and $725 Angies List rebate that are included in the 'Approximate cost of service'). <br />"

"I could smell how fresh and clean the house was as soon as I opened the back door. Everything looked great! Penny was great. She was on time, asked questions appropriately and then provided stellar service in less time than I anticipated. She provided me with detail with what she did and provided me the opportunity to review her work before requiring payment. I was extremely pleased and the cost was more than reasonable."

"The cons: Punctuality. Day 1. They called me an hour after they were supposed to be there because the Foreman had a family issue. OK, I understand. Day 2. Perfectly Sunny Day, 88 degrees. They no-called, no-showed. When I called them, they cancelled due to the weather. Then the Foreman calls me personally to tell me that they didn't get the parts in. Grrrrrrrrrrrr!!!! The pros: The job was done right the first time. It's been about 6 months with a few heavy storms and some snow, and there have been no leaks or other issues. Also, the exhaust pipe came out of the house on one of the seams, and they had trouble get the boot to look nice, but they worked until I was satisfied. I will take a punctuality issue over a leaky roof any day :-) Over all, Job Well Done!!!"

FAQs for air ducts & vents cleaning service projects in Gillett, PA

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) states that air duct cleaning is not required unless visible issues such as mold buildup, rodent droppings, or excessive dust are present. When such conditions exist, cleaning becomes essential to protect indoor air quality and maintain HVAC efficiency. This approach minimizes potential health risks and extends the system’s life.

Air ducts must be cleaned every three to five years as required by NADCA to preserve system efficiency and indoor air quality. The EPA insists that cleaning is necessary only when significant issues such as mold, pest infestations, or heavy dust accumulation are evident. Annual inspections by a certified professional promptly address any emerging concerns.

The ideal seasons for air duct cleaning are spring and fall. Cleaning during these periods prepares your HVAC system for the demands of both winter heating and summer cooling. These seasons provide moderate weather conditions that enable efficient service completion while minimizing disruption, ensuring your system performs at its peak.

Professional air duct cleaning takes a fixed duration of two to five hours, depending on the home’s size and the complexity of the duct system. Smaller residences with standard ductwork complete the service in two hours, while larger homes with extensive ducts require up to five hours. Additional repairs may extend this duration.

To prepare for professional air duct cleaning, ensure all vents are unobstructed by moving nearby furniture and clearing pathways. Secure any pets in a safe area and confirm that your HVAC system units are easily accessible for technician inspection. Proper preparation contributes to a higher quality service outcome and prevents delays, allowing the cleaning process to proceed efficiently.
