"Third time I've hired Greg Sefner for painting work in my apartment. Excellent work on original, 100+ year old plaster walls and ceilings patching, painting, and addressing wallpaper bubbling off walls."

"It was GREAT! First, his was the most affordable bid. We especially appreciated that because, as we were in the bid-taking process, we had a multi-thousand-dollar plumbing disaster that affected us budget- and time-wise. Saul stuck with us until we were ready, he showed up to the minute at the time we requested and he always wore a mask when he was talking to us, which I appreciated because I"m in the high-risk age group. He kept us updated on how things were going. When he was finished, only 8 hours later for a two-room, double-coat job, he cleaned up, including shop-vacuuming the work area, and put everything back where it was. And the rooms were BEAUTIFUL! We are EXTREMELY pleased with Saul and this company and will call him again for our next paint project."

"Chris and crew arrived right on time, went right to work, were pleasant and helpful. They did a fantastic job in great time, added an additional room to the project at our request and at a reasonable price. They took down drapes and blinds and put them up again afterwards. Did a fantastic job of cleanup too. Highly recommended!!"

"I was very pleased with their services! We thought it was going to take longer but if Iâ m not mistaken it took 1.5 days to paint both rooms after prepping them. The rooms look great and have been complimented on them several times. We are definitely hiring for our next project soon."

FAQs for small projects painting or staining projects in Glencoe, IL

You'll need about two gallons of paint to fully cover your kitchen cabinets with two coats. Since each gallon covers around 350 square feet, it's a good idea to measure your cabinets or use a paint calculator to determine exactly how much you'll need. Starting with one or two coats of primer and then applying two to three layers of paint will give you a flawless, durable finish. Using high-quality paint can reduce the number of coats needed and provide a long-lasting finish.

The best type of paint for your kitchen cabinets is latex paint because it applies evenly and creates a durable finish. If you're painting wood surfaces and need extra adhesion, acrylic paint is a great alternative. We don't recommend oil-based paint for residential use due to its VOC emissions. For finishes, go with eggshell, semi-gloss, gloss, or satin, as matte finishes aren't as durable or as easy to clean.

The best method for painting kitchen cabinets is spray painting because it gives you a smooth, even finish without brush strokes. While brushes and rollers can work, they often leave marks and require more effort. If you're aiming for a professional look, spray painting is your best bet to enhance the beauty and durability of your cabinets.
