"I would most defiantly use Mr. Appliance again! He was very knowledgeable. Mike not only fixed the problem but gave me some helpful hints on how to make my dishwasher more effective. Great to work with, on time and reasonably priced. Will call Mr Appliance for any other appliance needs!!!

"After first talking to Earl on the phone I had some initial reservations, but my concerns were quickly addressed and an appointment was set.  Earl was quickly able to tell us that we our black wire was hot, but it turns out that one of our white wires, behind an entertainment center was apparently either loose or just baring touching and must have been arcing because it had been burnt black. He was quickly able to strip it down and reattach it. The whole experience went very smooth and Earl is a great guy.

"Tj did a great job,and didn't take long to get me scheduled to install two ceiling fans. His charge of $150 per fan is on the lower end for this work. He also gave me great bids for two other projects."

"Technician came to the house and analyzed the problem. It was determined that the cost of repair was over the allowable Choice Home Warranty limit and it should be replaced. Choice Home Warranty issued their replacement cost. This cost was unacceptable and I challenged their figure. After some negotiation I was offered an increased settlement amount. I still balked at their offer but I was told to take it or repair my old microwave. I finally accepted their amount, even though it is still well below what it will cost me to replace the unit. I might add that the existing microwave has the convection feature and I want to replace with same features. The cost that I will receive also does not include any removal, disposal or installation costs. At this time I am debating whether I will continue with Choice Home Warranty or consider other options."

"They did a terrific job. I had questions after the serviceman came out, but it was just due to my lack of knowledge about the situation. The manager, Matt came all the way out to our house in the country and didn't charge me a thing. He double checked everything, replaced a different part for me free of charge and cleaned the inside, back and under our fridge. I would definitely use Ambassador Appliance Repair Services again and will be happy to refer our friends and co-workers to them. They really showed they cared about their customers and doing the right thing for us. Thank you so much to everyone at Ambassador Appliance Repair Svcs"

FAQs for appliance (smaller size) installation and replacement projects in Grain Valley, MO

Garbage disposals last around 10 years when properly maintained. If your unit is getting close to that age or repair costs are increasing, it might be time to consider a replacement. Regular maintenance and careful use can help maximize your garbage disposal's performance and help it reach its maximum lifespan.

There are several signs to watch for that indicate your garbage disposal needs to be replaced. Replacement may be necessary if it doesn't work even though it's properly connected, the blades are worn and causing delays in operation, a persistent foul odor that won't go away, or leaks coming from the bottom due to a compromised seal. If you're experiencing any of these issues, it might be time to consider getting a new garbage disposal to keep your kitchen running smoothly.

A plumber or handyperson can install your garbage disposal if the electrical connections are already in place. If you need additional electrical work, you'll also need to hire a qualified electrician to handle the rest of the job. Hiring local professionals ensures the installation is safe and up to code.

It’s important to avoid putting certain items down the drain to keep your garbage disposal running smoothly and avoid clogs. Expandable foods like pasta, rice, oatmeal, and bread can swell and cause blockages. Coffee grounds, grease, fats, and oils can accumulate and create clogs. Hard items such as meat bones, nuts, and fruit pits can damage the disposal blades. Eggshells, potato peels, and fibrous vegetables such as celery, pumpkin, corn husks, artichokes, onion skins, and asparagus can wrap around the blades or obstruct the pipes.

Not every sink is suitable for the installation of a garbage disposal. The compatibility of the sink with the disposal depends on the material and structural integrity. While many standard sinks support these units, fireclay sinks are prone to cracking under the added stress and should not be used. Confirm that your sink can securely accommodate the disposal before installation.

Choosing the correct size garbage disposal depends on your household size and how much waste you produce. A 1/3–1/2 horsepower unit should be sufficient for households with one to two people. If your household consists of three to six people, a 1/2–3/4 horsepower unit is recommended. FA3/4–1 horsepower model will be necessary. For larger households of five to eight people
