"I have used Reliable 3 times in the last 7 or 8 years. I did not use them to replace my roof about 10 years ago for which I have deep regrets and continue to suffer the consequences. We had a new roof installed about 10 years ago by a company that is no longer in business, (and now I know why). About a year or so after the install we began to get random leaks throughout the whole house. I contacted Reliable and they found out that the contractor had cut the opening for the ridge vent way too wide and water was getting into the house and running down the rafters and dripping onto the ceiling in various spots. They completely tore out the ridge vent, replaced the plywood, and redid it properly and we have had no problems with that issue since.

A few years later I used them to repair a hole in our roof and gutter damage caused by one of our ice storms and they did a fabulous job. Most recently, we had leaks isolated to one room in the house. They found that the contractor had nailed the shingles too high in that area so they tore the shingles off in that region and replaced them. We have had no issues with leaks since.

I have been extremely pleased with every interaction that I have had with Reliable Residential Roofing. Everyone is professional and knowledgeable and most of all the work is done well and correctly the first time. Whenever it comes time to replace our poorly done roof from the previous contractor I won't look anywhere else than Reliable."

"Isidro responded immediately with a cost estimate. He wanted to beat the winter storm that was coming so the leak would not become worse. When he arrived, he immediately went up on the roof, found the problem, took pictures, and explained what he would do. After finishing the boot installation, he walked the roof and brought pictures of 3-4 other areas that needed sealant. I was very impressed with his professionalism, thoroughness, and genuine desire to be of service."

"Our "only" negative comment about Ground Zero Shelters is that they do not come to a persons residence to give the sales pitch and demonstration. You must go to their showroom or see their product at a home show. This being said, we were extremely happy with the sales experience, reminders and installation of our shelter. They called about 10 days prior to the installation for a reminder, their installers called the day before and the morning of the installation to remind us that they would be at our home at the designated time. They showed up as promised and were completed with the installation in less than 1 1/2 hours time! Thank you Ground Zero!"

"This isn't an easy roof even without the metal roof that was existing. Ours is extremely steep yet these guys weren't intimidated at all. They called and were able to start a week ahead of the scheduled start (score extra points there), arrived on time daily, finished earlier than anticipated and throughly cleaned up the yard afterwards. They took extra care not to disturb the plants in the yard even though to me, the roof was the bigger concern, plants are great but a leaky roof getting fixed was upper most in importance. The crew were respectful and seemed to work like a well honed engine. I have no doubt that only mother nature's worst will cause me to need their services again but should the need arise, I will call them without a doubt."

"He came at the last minute, traveled 60 miles to help us out doing a quick patch job on a flat roof before a big rainstorm. He was professional, courteous, and went out of his way to help out in a hurry, even though he was busy and it was late afternoon. Unfortunately, we were unable, at the time, to have him roof my mothers house(a second location) due to an argument with the insurance company. When we do get the money together to have the house roofed, we will call him! He's a wonderful man with a very professional attitude. He's got my vote anyday!"

"1. As numerous clients and colleagues learned before I had the opportunity to do so, Mr. Joe Knife is a most charming, personable, and informative businessman. I wish I could be half as patient and reassuring in my own career as a physician. He leaves the distinct impression after sitting down with him that he has nothing else on his mind than to answer fully all your questions and satisfy your concerns. 2. His work crew for this project were two very hard-working gentlemen, also charming, who labored diligently over a period of several days, in a blazing sun, to place a beautiful aluminum roof with internal fasteners and color-coordinated vents. They were also kind to brief me on finding the most "walkable" areas of the new roof, while cleaning up neatly."

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Gray, KY

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
