"They did a really good job. They were very nice men; they were easy to work with. They were very prompt to fix any issues. They cleaned up everything before they left every night. The price was very reasonable."

"Contractor started work on the date we requested, and arrived punctually each work day. They did an excellent job taking down the old deck, pouring new footers (old deck had none!), and building the the supporting sub-structure. We requested the new deck be built using Trex (TM) composite materials, and the carpenter was able to quickly put down the new Trex flooring.
We also asked for the existing roof line be extended to cover the entire deck, and the extended roof be supported using decorative, fiberglass columns. The carpenter's excellent skills resulted in in a deck that was transformed from a warped, splintery wooden deck, to a beautiful new deck completely covered by an extended roof line. Vinyl railings were installed between the fiberglass columns, and a ceiling fan was also installed. New gutters and downspouts were added to handle the runoff from the deck roof.
The project took 6 weeks (some delay due to more rain than usual). But, we had the deck up and running for Memorial Day weekend, and are delighted with it all. The new columns add a touch of elegance, and the vinyl and Trex materials give us a deck that is very low maintenance. We are extremely pleased with the work, and the gentleman who did the work.
"

"We had them replace our rear deck about a year ago, did a great job. Posted a review here on that job. They did some external wood trim on the upper patio to tie things together. They pressured washed both decks. The new rear deck is a single level. The front deck has three levels. Were very clean during the pressure washing and ensured that no mess was left behind after. They stained the rear deck and made sure that everything was covered and sealed completely before starting. After they sprayed everything was cleaned very well. They spent a lot of time making sure that the siding on house was clean and free from any stain. After they painted the front after prepping the area completely. Gave the deck two coats of solid color stain. Gave the top deck a third coat because they were not happy with just two coats. Cleaned everything up and left nothing behind. Overall great job again by them and are planning on having them remodel our bathroom shortly.
"

"I requested information from Ozark Wood Care by submitting a web form I found on their web site. Less than 12 hours later, I received a call from Steve Schmidt who is the owner of the company. I asked him to come look at my house and give me an estimate. He said he was working in my area and would be by later that afternoon or the next day for sure. As promised, he showed up at my house less than 4 hours after our initial conversation. It is unusual in my area to even receive a call back from a contractor in a reasonable period of time, let alone them showing up for an estimate. Steve and Ozark Wood Care followed up promptly and did what he said he would do. So far so good!!

When Steve arrived at my home he did a detailed inspection of my home to determine the services I would need. The stain on my log home had completely failed and he recommended stripping it down to the bare wood. He also recommended that we apply a wood preservative to the logs once they were stripped. The name of the preservative is ECO Wood Treatment. He claimed that it was entirely plant and mineral based, contained no chemicals and was safe for plants, animals and humans. The environment is very important to me so at this point he definitely had my attention! He also stated that unlike any other preservative, sealer or stain, the ECO wood treatment was MAINTENANCE FREE!! Wow! I know there are those of you who will scoff at that claim but it wasn't made by Steve at Ozark Wood Care, it is in the documentation of the manufacturer of the product. So we shall see.

Steve gave me a verbal estimate on site and promised to give a written estimate no later than the next morning which he did. We agreed to the cost and he started the work 2 days later. Our experience with Steve Schmidt and the entire staff at Ozark Wood Care was outstanding to say the least. They did everything they promised they would, in a timely manner and left the job site cleaner than when they arrived. I would HIGHLY recommend this company to anyone that needs construction work of any kind done and especially for painting and anything wood related. Steve Wilson"

"Sales and installation went fine. We ran into some problems with rotted fascia boards and soffits 2 years later. Called them to get an estimate on repairs. Jeff came out to look at what needed to be done and told us he would get back that week with an estimate. Never heard back from him. Called him and he said that Tim would be out in a few days to look at what needed to be done. Tim didn't show up on the days that Jeff said he would. Called Jeff again and he said that they were so busy that he was having difficulty with Tim's schedule. Told them that we would prefer to have them do the work as they installed the gutters which may have to be adjusted with the fascia replacement. He said he understood. Didn't hear back from them and gave up. Hired another contractor. Tim showed up unexpectedly while the contractor was here doing the work.
Then, we discovered that there were some problems with leaking gutters on the inside corners and, when combined with a roof issue on the same inside corners, was what had probably caused the rotting of the fascia and soffits. We contacted Jeff again to ask them to come out to take a look at the gutters and to help us solve the problem. Never heard back from them.
The issue with the gutters is that one of the inside corners had a hole in the back which the installer had tried to fill with gutter sealant. There was a hole in the gutter sealant that allowed water to go through the back of the gutter and drain into the soffit area and into a window. It looked like one of the gutters had been cut incorrectly where the two gutter lines met on the inside corner. Another of the inside corners had a piece of small piece of metal lying under the shingles and across the area where the water would run down the roof into the opening in the leaf shield. The metal had not been sealed into place and was not large enough to fit completely under the inside corner of the shingles so water was getting under the shingles and down into the fascia and structure.
They are good at making the sale and installation. Not very good with helping customers afterwards.
"

FAQs for exterior home or structure paint or stain projects in Green Forest, AR

Painting vinyl siding is a budget-friendly way to revive curb appeal without paying for new panels. As long as the boards aren’t warped, cracked, or leaking, a coat of high-quality acrylic paint can buy you another five to 10 years before replacement.

Stick to lighter shades so the siding doesn’t soak up excess heat, and prep the surface well for the paint to bond. If you’re seeing rot or moisture damage, skip the paint and plan for new siding instead.

High-quality acrylic paint is recommended for vinyl siding. Acrylic paint adheres firmly to vinyl surfaces and resists peeling and fading, providing a sleek and long-lasting finish. Ensure the siding is thoroughly cleaned and prepared for optimal results. Your exterior painting pro has the expertise to properly prepare your siding’s surface to ensure proper adhesion.

Priming is not required if the vinyl siding remains in good condition and is properly cleaned. However, if the original color is severely faded or the panels have become porous, priming becomes essential. Priming provides a smooth, even base that improves paint adhesion and enhances durability, ensuring the acrylic finish adheres properly and lasts longer.

A paint sprayer is the quickest, most consistent way to coat vinyl siding. The fine mist reaches grooves a roller can miss and lays down an even layer in a fraction of the time. You’ll still need a brush for tight corners, but a sprayer slashes labor hours and reduces lap marks.

If you’re renting equipment, ask the supplier for a tip size made for exterior acrylics so the paint atomizes correctly and sticks to the siding.

Painted vinyl siding lasts between five and 10 years. The durability depends on the quality of the surface preparation and the local climate conditions. When the siding is thoroughly cleaned and prepped, and high-quality acrylic paint is used, the finish endures longer. In hotter regions, the lifespan may be closer to five years, while cooler climates help extend it.
