"I contacted the company in the middle of March to come out and give me an estimate of the repairs. Mr. Carpenter came out and evaluated the damage. The damage on one side of my house was very high off the ground and I was impressed that Mr. Carpenter was concerned about his staff enough to consult them to make sure there were no concerns about performing the work (for safety issues) before deciding if he could quote it. He explained where there might be additional charges if damage was more extensive than he could see, but was able to quote me a reasonable flat rate for the additional work that might be needed. <br /> Once I notified the company that I wanted them to perform the work, it took a little while to get the work scheduled. This was the only disappointing part of my experience with the company. I had needed the work performed quickly as my housing association had only given me a short deadline to get the work completed. However, in the company's defense, this was an unusually busy time to request home repairs because our area had suffered a great deal of damage due to a recent (and uncharacteristic for our area) ice storm. All companies that I contacted for repair estimates during this time were completely swamped and Carpenter's were the most responsive. I notified them to schedule work on 4/2/2014 and they performed the service on 4/25/2014. <br /> They came out and completed the services in one day. I wasn't home when they completed the repairs, but as soon as I came home I inspected the work and was extremely pleased with the results. The workmanship was excellent from what I could see (all of the work was too high off the ground for me to perform an upclose inspection) and there was no evidence left lying around to indicate anyone had even been there working on the place. Mr. Carpenter called that evening to follow up and make sure the work was acceptable. He honestly informed me that the additional work had not been required so I would not be charged the additional charges. <br /> I highly recommend this company and will definitely consider them again for any future home repairs. <br />"

"He showed up on time for the estimate and scheduled an early date for repair. He was very honest and did not recommend replacing the entire casing. He came early in the morning and was finished in an hour. The repair work is like new and functions as it did before it was damaged. Mr. Carter always answered his phone and returned my calls. He even came out to give me a free repair estimate. Will definitely use him again. <br />"

"I wish I had built it myself like I intended. Putting wood even treated wood on top of wet concrete is not good. He did not want to seal the cut ends...had to pay extra, even though the wood manufacturer recommended it on all cut ends. then most ends were still not sealed...did it myself. I work nights....if I had not woke up in time I would have had 2 sprinklers under my deck. I discussed in detail what I wanted when he came over. It was forgotten. Low profile deck....we agreed would could not touch ground...he brought it up before I did. Guess what wood was on ground...did all I could to get some separation. He bragged about how he came back to see his customers after the decks were built. That was 1 yr and 2 weeks ago. <br /> <br />  He has an excellent review with the BBB also. Not gonna trust them anymore either. <br /> <br />The longer I looked the more problem I saw with it.The 6" was not at the door it was at the other end. When we talked about it, I agreed with Me. Talent to shorten the deck by a foot to give us some separation...didn't happen. I did some digging. Still needs some digging but I am going to surround deck with pavers. <br />About the sprinklers... The framing was installed and all that was left was decking when I woke up. Follow up visit?Still invited to come over. <br /> <br />"

He did exactly what we needed him to do, and it looked great. <br /> We also appreciated that he called the other companies he was referring us to and gave them our contact information, and we then heard from them before we could even call ourselves. <br /> We are a military family and have moved away, but still own our home in Augusta and even used Harry after we moved to fix a couple of minor plumbing issues that we were unable to resolve on our own before our new tenants moved in.
