"Eric and his team at A-1 did a great job, exactly as promised on time and dollar estimate. They removed the guards, cleaned several inches of gunk from the gutters, cleaned everything on roof and ground. Will definitely go them for all manor of gutter cleaning, repair or replacement. Tom Kahlert"

"Greg and his crew did an excellent job on our roof replacement! The quality of his work and communications on the job prior to, during, and after the job gave us a very high level of comfort and confidence. He was able to get the replacement of a very large roof done in two days. He was personally at our place throughout the job to answer questions. We had some related siding issues that he also completed to limit future leaks. I would highly recommend Greg to anyone looking to have a roof repair or replacement."

"I'd seen an ad post on the Nextdoor app a few weeks before a storm came through and ripped off a few of my shingles. I called them because they were close to the house and asked about a repair. They came out in the rain and tarped my roof, no charge. Afterwards they came back and looked over the damage and they suggested I get in contact with my insurance co. Other than the missing shingles I had a lot of hail damage. Once I got a settlement, they promptly installed my new shingles. Very friendly crew. Honest price."

"I originally hired Sam and his crew to complete a remodel on my master bath. I received bids from several contractors. Not only was Sam well under in price, but his overall demeanor and customer service made me feel instantly at ease. Throughout the project, Sam and his crew were professional, courteous, and overall a pleasure to work with. The bathroom turned out so amazing that I hired them a few months later to build a screened in porch off the back of the house. Once again, the quality and value were top notch!. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Pro Building Solutions to my friends and family, and will continue to call them for projects in the future, big or small. They are the only contractor in Huntsville I'll use!!!"

FAQs for natural slate roofing repair projects in Guntersville, AL

If more than 30% of your slate roof is damaged, it's time to consider a full replacement. This will prevent further deterioration and avoid costly recurring repairs. A professional slate inspection (costing between $130 and $360) can confirm whether repairs are sufficient or if a full roof replacement is the better option.

A slate roof can last anywhere from 60 to 150 years, depending on factors like installation quality, regular maintenance and repairs, and local weather conditions. Compared to materials like clay and concrete, which often last around 50 years, a well-maintained slate roof offers superior longevity, durability, and long-lasting aesthetic appeal.

Yes, you can use temporary patch solutions, such as roofing cement or patchwork, to provide immediate relief for minor leaks or underlayment issues observed from inside your home. However, these provisional fixes do not replace the need for a permanent, professional exterior repair, which is necessary to ensure the long-term integrity and weather resistance of your slate roof.
