They worked with my insurance, were very patient with us during shingle selection and scheduling, then the crew that came out was courteous and very professional. They were also quick and clean! "The project went great, AIC met with my insurance claims adjustor, they were able to do a full roof replacement and provided me an excellent warranty. Would highly recommend them to anyone needing a roof replacement or repairs done to their home."
The homeowner was able to see this ripple of shingles from the ground! This was caused by high winds and was part of the reason the homeowner gave us a call.
During our inspection, we were able to see exactly where the shingles had blown off and other areas of damage on the roof. This homeowner needed a full roof replacement.
At AIC, we care about the small details. Before we started to remove the old roof from this house, we covered the HVAC units to prevent any debris from causing damage!
We will always tear off the old roof before installing the new roof. This keeps warranties intact and gives the customer a better product with a new roof!
All of our roof installations get a layer of underlayment before the shingles go on. This protects the roof's deck from moisture!

FAQs for natural slate roofing repair projects in Louisville, KY

If more than 30% of your slate roof is damaged, it's time to consider a full replacement. This will prevent further deterioration and avoid costly recurring repairs. A professional slate inspection (costing between $130 and $360) can confirm whether repairs are sufficient or if a full roof replacement is the better option.

A slate roof can last anywhere from 60 to 150 years, depending on factors like installation quality, regular maintenance and repairs, and local weather conditions. Compared to materials like clay and concrete, which often last around 50 years, a well-maintained slate roof offers superior longevity, durability, and long-lasting aesthetic appeal.

Yes, you can use temporary patch solutions, such as roofing cement or patchwork, to provide immediate relief for minor leaks or underlayment issues observed from inside your home. However, these provisional fixes do not replace the need for a permanent, professional exterior repair, which is necessary to ensure the long-term integrity and weather resistance of your slate roof.
