"Outstanding Job. Our Forever Floor is Finally Here! Fillip and his crew did a wonderful job on our kitchen floor. After a really bad experience installing LVT on an uneven surface, my partner and I were determined to find a contractor who could get it right this time someone who would give us our forever floor. From the start, Fillip was attentive and professional. He met with both of us, listened to all our concerns, and helped us come up with a solid game plan. I can’t say enough good things about his company. He truly cares about his customers something you don’t see enough these days. Even though I was responsible for providing all the materials, when the transitions I bought didn’t quite match the look of the floor, Fillip went above and beyond. He found and picked up the right pieces that same day so the job could be finished properly. I may not have the flashiest kitchen, but thanks to Fillip, the floor is flawless and I’m definitely hiring him again to do the backsplash once my partner finishes installing the trim. Highly recommend!"

"It took a lot of phone tag to finally get the technician to our house, but once here he was efficient and professional and did an amazing job. The chip was in the edge of a white quartz countertop, very difficult to match perfectly, and the repair is absolutely invisible. Not the lowest bid, but worth the price."

I have been a self-employed licensed contractor for 30+ years. I stay up to date on all building regulations and codes through continuing education classes. For bigger projects I set up sub-contractors when needed and assume the role of general manager.

Custom One Construction's motto is "exceeding expectations". We make it our priority to ensure that the job is done right, in a timely manner, and when we walk out the door, the customer is happy. The owners Jeff and Chris have combined experience of over 30 years in construction, and have amassed a wide range of knowledge in multiple fields. Most of our estimates are free. No job is too big or too small. We are neither the cheapest company nor are we the most expensive, but our work is of the highest quality. We do not have a fancy business office, drive big shiny trucks, or staff a fast-talking salesman. When we arrive at the jobsite, it is just Jeff and Chris. So we can afford to offer reasonable rates! Despite this difficult economy, Custom One Construction LLC. has grown simply by word of mouth, and we believe there is something to be said about that. We have references to help ease your mind when considering a project with us.\nAdditional service areas: Scott, Washington & portions of Goddhue & Carver Counties

FAQs for tile: ceramic and porcelain repair projects in Hammond, WI

People use the terms refinishing, resurfacing, and reglazing interchangeably. Refinishing is a process that repairs old tiles and gives them a fresh new coat of finish. This is also called tile resurfacing or reglazing.

Yes, you can refinish tiles as a DIY project, but it’s important to follow all the steps involved. These include the following:

  1. Clean the tiles or hire a local tile cleaning service to remove all the residue (soap film, oil, grease, and dirt).

  2. Etch the tile to ensure the refinishing solution adheres properly.

  3. Fill in any cracks or chips in the tile.

  4. Recoat the grout.

  5. Repair any missing or damaged caulking where applicable.

  6. Apply the refinishing product, primer, and enamel.

Your newly reglazed tile should last between 10 and 15 years with proper installation. However, higher-traffic areas and moisture may result in a reduced life span. Explore the cost of different tile types to determine which material works best for your home and needs.

Your bathtub and tile refinishing cost will likely seem like a small price to pay for the transformation it offers. Provided your tile and grout are both intact, refinishing will bring a brand-new style at a fraction of the cost.

Yes, most ceramic tile is paintable with specific epoxy or tile paints. However, you’ll want to avoid areas of heavy use or moisture, such as countertops, showers, and bathtubs. Paint can crack, bubble, or wear away over time, especially on floors.
