"We needed a new sunroom for our home and did not know where to go and seek expertise. We found this business on Homeadvisor and were really happy about the good ratings. Mark Belvin and his team were very professional from the start of the project to finish. Mark answered every question we had, helped us learn about what needed to be done. His designer, Dave, drew up our vision and made a clear 3-d design so we could see how things would look before renovating. Mark has a true talent and true craftsmanship. I recommend them to anyone seeking work done for their home. We love our closed in sunroom and knowing we can have family over and entertain again is very nice. Thanks again, Ultimate Craftsman!"

Customers say: Quality work

"Outstanding job, great customer service, great quality of work, great work ethic. It is so nice to have a contractor who does what they say they are going to do and shows up when they say they are going to show up. Phelps Construction removed and rebuilt my garage and they did an outstanding job. I highly recommend this company."

"Excellent, no problems. My car was new the first year I used the service and there has never been any damage during the transports. The men picking up and delivering the car have always been pleasant and cooperative. Both Ely and Guy at United Transport has been highly responsive to my needs. I would highly recommend this company."

"Shenandoah Shutters is excellent! Amy came to our home for a consultation and discussed the various options. She was very professional, thorough, and attentive to our unique needs. The company communicated with us on every step of the process and the custom shutters were ready earlier than expected. The shutters are gorgeous! Incredible custom craftsmanship and excellent quality. We are very happy with the work and highly recommend Shenandoah Shutters!"

"This contractor did an amazing job at installing 16 new double hung windows. I was totally impressed with their skill level and efficiency. Only negative thing I have to say involves interior cleanup. Once work was accomplished in the house, they did not adequately clean up the debris as a result of window remove and install. That is something that needs to be stressed!"

FAQs for remodel to accommodate a disability projects in Hampton, VA

Standard Medicare coverage often doesn't extend to home modifications, such as roll-in showers. In specific circumstances where medical necessity is clearly established, limited coverage might be available through certain Medicare programs. Many homeowners explore alternative funding sources such as home modification grants, veterans' benefits, or specialized financing programs designed for accessibility improvements. Consulting with a Medicare representative about your specific situation provides the most accurate guidance.

Roll-in showers deliver significant benefits beyond their monetary return, particularly in terms of safety, independence, and long-term accessibility. By eliminating barriers to bathing, these installations help prevent falls while accommodating mobility devices, such as wheelchairs or walkers. Their open design creates a contemporary appearance that appeals to many homebuyers. For households planning to age in place or accommodate family members with mobility challenges, the functional advantages often outweigh pure financial considerations.

A standard roll-in shower installation takes two to four days. Projects requiring extensive renovation or plumbing changes may take longer, potentially extending to several weeks or months. Factors affecting the timeline include existing bathroom configuration, permit processing times, contractor availability, and material delivery schedules. Creating proper drainage slopes often requires additional preparation time compared to traditional shower installations, particularly when modifying existing floor structures.
