"We recently hired Donnie and his crew to paint the interior of our home, and we couldn't be more pleased with the results. They showed up on time every day, communicated well and respected our home. The job itself was flawless with clean lines and even coats. Their pricing was competitive, and we felt we received great value for the quality of work provided. We definitely recommend F&D Painting."

"Daniel is very professional. He painted my kitchen ceiling. He did a great job. I recommended him to friends & they used him too. He is coming back in the next few weeks to paint all of my shutters. I will use him for any painting projects that need to be done....that's how good he is."

"Glenn is a very upstanding young man I was very impressed with his work ethic. Over the last year I've had several projects done with different contractors and frequently there will be a problem or an issue and they don't want to return to make it right. There was a slight problem with the job that Glenn did really wasn't his fault but he was very ethical to come back immediately and get the problem solved other than the small little issue I would have given him an All-Star fine I would definitely recommend this young man he takes the job seriously he wants to please and he does a good job."

FAQs for small projects painting or staining projects in Harrisonburg, VA

You'll need about two gallons of paint to fully cover your kitchen cabinets with two coats. Since each gallon covers around 350 square feet, it's a good idea to measure your cabinets or use a paint calculator to determine exactly how much you'll need. Starting with one or two coats of primer and then applying two to three layers of paint will give you a flawless, durable finish. Using high-quality paint can reduce the number of coats needed and provide a long-lasting finish.

The best type of paint for your kitchen cabinets is latex paint because it applies evenly and creates a durable finish. If you're painting wood surfaces and need extra adhesion, acrylic paint is a great alternative. We don't recommend oil-based paint for residential use due to its VOC emissions. For finishes, go with eggshell, semi-gloss, gloss, or satin, as matte finishes aren't as durable or as easy to clean.

The best method for painting kitchen cabinets is spray painting because it gives you a smooth, even finish without brush strokes. While brushes and rollers can work, they often leave marks and require more effort. If you're aiming for a professional look, spray painting is your best bet to enhance the beauty and durability of your cabinets.
