"After contacting S & S Electric via email and requesting price quote for labor only on installing a transfer switch for a portable generator, Steven responded quickly with a price quote and some simple questions about the job. I made an appointment for the installation and Steve and his colleague, Dave, arrived on the appointed day and time on schedule. They assessed the work and came up with a plan of attack and got straight to work. It took them a total of 2 hours to install, wire and test the power going from my generator to the new switch and all the items I wanted to hook up for power.
They even took a look and fixed a loose wire in a bathroom fixture for free.
Steven was very good about explaining what I needed to do to use the switch, what issues to watch out for and maintenance tips for my generator. Overall the whole job was very professional, priced fairly and went extremely well. I would highly recommend their services.

"On June 10, I had a company to install security equipment in my home. In doing so, the installer drilled through a wire and I did not have electricity in several outlets due to the damage. Not only was he able to come out the same day that I called, but Mr. Williams was able to come much earlier than expected. Once he arrived he was able to trouble shoot and diagnose the problem. Mr. Williams was very, very friendly, professional and honest. He was able to answer my husband’s questions and explained what he was doing as he made the repairs. I have been looking for an electrician for a while now and have decided that I will be using Hands on Electric for all of my future projects. I called on a Thursday and they were able to schedule my install for the following Monday. The electricians arrived on time, and were very friendly and professional upon our initial greeting. "Murphy Family Electric is an awesome company with very competent technicians and reasonable rates. They make the whole process pretty straightforward. I had used them to get my Tesla charger in 2018 (Cost: $799 including material). I was so impressed with their work that when I had a complex electrical job - installing a new 120v outlet requiring a new wire from the circuit breaker - I did not get any quotes but just booked them. That job was done very professionally as well (Cost: $949). Fast forward to Mar 2025, my tesla charger had problems with over heating and intermittent power loss. I called Murphy Family Electric and they sent a technician the same day who came and adjusted/cleaned the connections and spent 30 mins fixing the problem. And to my surprise the company did not even charge me anything for this. So on top of everything else you can add absolutely fantastic customer service to their list of attributes."

"EXCELLENT!!! Based on other reviews, I reached out to Paradise to troubleshoot an issue with flickering lights. I was shocked when Tim offered to troubleshoot the issue for free, despite estimating it could take 1.5-2 hours. Tim was prompt (even called to let me know he was running a few minutes late), wore a mask (COVID), was courteous, and determined the issue really quickly. He entertained answering all of my electrical questions, came up with the best path forward to resolving the issue, and provided a very reasonable quote for repairs. I will definitely be having him complete the recommended repairs! It is hard to find tradespeople like Tim in DC; available, knowledgeable, friendly, and, most importantly, a professional who takes pride in his work. "Will arrive right on time and did such a good job that I was almost afraid to get in my car and dirty. Both cars looked like new and smelled like new--leather, carpets, wheels, body...
