Rainbow Home Improvements has been in business and serving Pierce and South King Counties since 1984. Owner Bernard (Ben) Heisterkamp emigrated from the Netherlands in 1980, has lived in Pierce County since 1982 and has been a licensed contractor since 1984 (license number: RAINBHI168ME) He specializes in kitchen and bath remodeling, interior finish carpentry, ceramic tile and laminate work, but is experienced in most phases of construction. He is a hands-on contractor, an old school craftsman with over 25 years of experience in residential remodeling, who prefers to do most of the work himself and takes great pride in his work. When necessary he will subcontract plumbing, electrical or drywall work, but all work will be carefully supervised. Quality control is his utmost priority. Remodeling is stressful for homeowners. There is dust, noise, change in daily routines and invasion of privacy. Ben will make all efforts to keep disruptions to a minimum. He will also consult with you throughout the project, explain choices and offer suggestions to make sure that the end result will meet your expectations and that he can add you to his list of happy customers. If your home is built before 1979, it might possibly contain lead paint. We are prepared to deal with the lead dust that can be generated by remodeling activities. "We did a remodel of our house down to the studs. Alix and his team were absolutely wonderful! He came in to give a bid and mentioned that we might want to look at shiming our very old and very not straight roofline because the drywall would hug the framing and we'd end up with a better product if we had a straight line to hug. (Excellent advice! And something that none of the other drywall bidders mentioned) We sadly had to push back our start date a couple of times due to failed electrical work and Alix was extremely understanding and able to work with us. His team showed up on time and worked long days to get our job done. Not only is he incredibly hard working but the finished product is amazing! Consistently even and smooth drywall and clean clear lines on the paint job. I would (and am) recommending him to my friends and family! Great job AVL!!"
