"Brian came over after we had talked with several contractors about a concrete porch underside (in basement room) and one of those contractors made us think the concrete was in such a bad state of "imminent failure" that it needs a full replacement.So, while we continued to get quotes for a full replacement, we also asked a retired architect friend to give his opinion. He did not think concrete was so bad and he was glad we were having a structural engineer (Brian) coming over a few days later. Brian explained why he did not think the concrete was in need of full replacement (very expensive!) and also the damage was not a foundation/structure integrity issue (not "imminent failure"). We had spoken to several contractors and the cost to fully replace is upwards of 15-20 thousand dollars. From the state of the concrete, Brian did not believe the "symptoms" warranted a full replacement and that the more likely issue was simply that we never "sealed" the concrete with epoxy (and only painted the concrete porch). Given the sky-rocketing costs to do any home repairs, it seems more reasonable for us to do first level repair (not replace) that Brian suggests. Brian's honest and informative consultation (for free!!!) is piece of mind and a HUGE savings. We greatly appreciate Brian coming over to educate us - on his own dime. We will definitely ask Brian to come over again if/when we think we need an honest assessment of our home foundation needs."

"A 40 foot section of our foundation wall was completely rebuilt in June of 2014, and recently a 10 foot section of that wall displayed signs of water intrusion. A representative from KBS came out in late October of 2018 to survey the problem, take pictures and come up with a solution to remedy the issue. On Jan. 4, 2019, the project manager, Josh English, came to discuss what steps were to be taken in the repairs and ask if this was satisfactory to us, which it was. Jan. 9-10, a crew came to initiate the remediation; throughout the work, the lead technician Josh, explained what was to be done and consulted us about placement of various physical aspects (electrical supply, sump pump, etc.), which was much appreciated. After the repairs were completed, Josh again went over the details of the work to ensure our satisfaction, which we were. The remediation included installation of an interior French drain and a sump pump on that section of wall, in addition to covering the concrete block with a non-organic material to prevent mold growth. There was no charge for the repair, as it was covered by the original warranty, but I must add that this was obviously a substantial financial investment by the company owner (labor, materials and travel time) to guarantee that the issue was permanently resolved. The only negative comment that I would make is that I initially had some difficulty making contact with someone to explain the problem that I was having, so that someone could come and evaluate it, as well as finding out when repairs were to be scheduled."

The total project took longer than expected because of weather delays. Mike was always available in the evening to discuss the progress of the work. "In March 2011, a rock pad was laid as a foundation for our large garage being delivered.  Excellent work performed.  As a result of the impressive, professional job done, we had Rock a Fellas redo our deck in July, 2011.  A re-decking took place with Timbertech decking materials with radiance rails.  This was not an easy job, but Rock was very helpful in offering important advice and opinions on where to select materials etc.  He also took care of ordering the dumpster to haul away debris, a detail which can be overlooked by an overwhelmed customer.  He also rectified any concerns/issues with a prompt, professional manner which ultimately led to our great satisfaction when job was completed. <br />"
