"Rick and Maija Roe are very professional workers and very pleasant. From the first time I tried to contact them to get an estimate for the job until after the job was finished they were quick to respond to all of my inquiries. They always came when they said they would. They did an excellent job repairing nail pops and painting the ceilings throughout our house. Rick and Maija do a fantastic job painting, they are very careful with painting and to take care of their surroundings. they cleaned up everything before they left each day. This has been the best experience I have ever had having workers into my home. I highly recommend them, I am having them come back and paint walls in my house because they did such a great job and were so great to work with."

"Elias Contruction provided a detailed estimate after inspecting the roof and making some qualified recommendations. The project required a few change orders that were not clarified in writing. I would recommend hiring Elias if you get changes in writing. They cleaned up pretty well although they missed a few things due to finishing in the dark. Overall satisfied with the job and cost was 60% of other bids due to sheathing adjustment."

"Paul has been "our paint guy" for several projects in 2018. One can always find a painter, but Paul does more than put paint on a brush & proceed. We are not handy; we appreciate a good contractor; especially a really good contractor like Paul. But add communication & punctuality to a good work ethic & we are impressed. We sadly have found that is not often the case anymore. But Paul at Clearview gets high marks all around. Clearview (mainly Paul) has painted deep red walls to light beige, done outside trim of house, walls & ceiling of a bathroom (lots of cutting-in) & re-did a high level cabinet gloss finish on a large fireplace front. We have him scheduled to change our bathroom cabinet from blonde to white, a many-step process. Some of these jobs have been a bit spendy, but not out of line with the requirements. Paul does the prep needed; not just of area to paint, but to protect surrounding areas (including shoes off). He pays attention to detail & clean-up. One "minus" comment: we have had 10-12 contractors in & out since the middle of November: they ALL seem to have been "born in a barn"....they leave the door open most of the time. Necessary sometimes, but not always, guys! :-)"

"We are a retired senior couple in South Salem. We hired N W Painting Company to paint the exterior of our three bedroom, 1500 sq ft. home. The owner operator Martin E. Llamas Frasuto offered the estimate with lowest price. He and his assistant did a marvelous job. Their workmanship was impeccable. They were professional, courteous, attentive, and responsive to every request and concern. The project was finished in the time frame promised. I heartily recommend their work to others seeking a house painting contractor."

FAQs for small projects painting or staining projects in Hood River, OR

You'll need about two gallons of paint to fully cover your kitchen cabinets with two coats. Since each gallon covers around 350 square feet, it's a good idea to measure your cabinets or use a paint calculator to determine exactly how much you'll need. Starting with one or two coats of primer and then applying two to three layers of paint will give you a flawless, durable finish. Using high-quality paint can reduce the number of coats needed and provide a long-lasting finish.

The best type of paint for your kitchen cabinets is latex paint because it applies evenly and creates a durable finish. If you're painting wood surfaces and need extra adhesion, acrylic paint is a great alternative. We don't recommend oil-based paint for residential use due to its VOC emissions. For finishes, go with eggshell, semi-gloss, gloss, or satin, as matte finishes aren't as durable or as easy to clean.

The best method for painting kitchen cabinets is spray painting because it gives you a smooth, even finish without brush strokes. While brushes and rollers can work, they often leave marks and require more effort. If you're aiming for a professional look, spray painting is your best bet to enhance the beauty and durability of your cabinets.
