"Mr. Lopez and the ladies that work with him are beyond amazing. They all are very professional. We had our kitchen painted and cabinets, all of the bathrooms and bedrooms upstairs and downstairs, our man cave, playroom, bonus room, laundry room and hallways, our stairway railing stained and all doors to existing rooms painted, all of the bathroom vanities and the exterior porch columns painted and our stairway. Mr. Lopez also replaced all of our old kitchen hardware for our cabinets and drawers and our bathroom vanities hardware also. They did a exceptional job in fact we will be using their services in the near future. Mr. Lopez's attention to detail is the best every exception was fulfilled we asked he answered and made sure the job was completed exceptionally. I also like the fact that the ladies that work with him including himself all had on mask when they came. When the job was completed Mr. Lopez and the ladies cleaned up behind themselves,. I would highly recommend him and his crew to anyone who needs painting done."

Small jobs welcome

"Joseph is my go-to handyman! He has painted my kitchen cabinets, helped reskim walls, put my living room trim back up, helped switch out electrical outlets, put up shelving, laid laminate wood flooring, fixed a towel bar, created a threshold solution after he helped me finish a cased opening, painted my kitchen shutters, and did my backsplash tile. He is truly a jack of all trades. I keep him on speed dial."

"He was fast and pleasant to talk to but after it was all done I could see that the cabinets were not properly sanded before they were painted. After it was done, he cleaned out his painting equipment in the front yard which killed the lawn where the paint soaked into it. I had to have him come back and repaint a cabinet door and apparently he wasn't too happy about that because he verbally tried to intimidate me by arguing politics."

"My overall experience with Ed Martel was pleasant and professional. He communicated with me well and made sure he knew what I wanted before he left with the furniture. I wanted to keep the character of the piece (like the chew marks from me teething on the leg - embarrassing, but true!) and the perfume bottle marks she left out for all of us kids to sample. <br /> The piece had lost some of its color over the years, and I wanted the richer hue from my memory restored. The mirror had some "spots" in it like old mirrors do, so I opted to replace the mirror. The chair's upholstery needed replacing as well, and he asked me to either choose a fabric and deliver it to him in a week or so or he could refer the finished chair to an upholsterer he knew. I decided to choose the fabric. <br /> Mr. Martel called me a few days into the project and said it was going well. He sent me some pictures of the work in progress to make sure the deeper hue was what I'd envisioned. <br /> In about another week, he called to tell me he was finished with the piece and sent a few pictures through email. I was so excited about receiving the furniture that I cancelled a previous appointment so he could deliver that afternoon! <br /> The work is flawless. The piece is beautiful. It feels like my great-grandma could sit at it again, daubing on her blush and spritzing her perfume. I absolutely, positively LOVE Artistic Furniture Refinishing and can't wait to find a reason to call them again! <br />"

"The first problem I had after signing the contract is you are required to pay $1,000.00 that day. IF you don't sign/pay & you decide later to have the service done ... you will be charged a fee for someone else to come out & re measure. Another guy did come out the next day (to re measure), but he really came to collect an additional 7k, The first day the installers arrive on site they request another 8k. At this point I've paid 16K & have nothing to show for it ... the work has not even begun. Evidently they use your money to order the necessary supplies or insure they have your money so you will not change your mind. All of this was spelled out in the contract ...which I should have read & more carefully. I did try to cancel the contract but it was after the 3 day window & I was told if I cancelled I would have to pay 10 - 50 percent of the job (for nothing)! Bryton's claims they can "do it all", but they are not licensed to or don't have in their employ someone to handle all of your needs (ex. electricians, painters, etc.). They will however contract the work out on your behalf (for an additional fee that is above & beyond the price the contractor charges them).  I also did not like the fact that the contract was not itemized as to what each thing was costing me. Just a lump sum total. I was disappointed at the quality of the items I received. For the amount I paid I should have received top of the line products. Had to settle for vinyl instead of porcelain tile, chrome fixtures instead of brushed nickel, "hard service" aka plastic vanity top instead of quartz or granite, the faucets are so short you can't even get your hands under them for washing, the sinks are small (looks like they belong in a play house. My cabinets they hauled out of here were a better grade than my new "upgraded cabinets"! The cabinets & drawers did not even come with handles, I had to buy them & they were kind enough to put them on (which splintered the doors when they drilled the holes. I had to hire someone to put in my lighting, exhaust fan/light, the glass for the shower & for painting. Bryton's finished up today, but I'm on week 3 & still can't use the bathroom because I'm waiting on the glass for the shower & still trying to locate a painter. My intent was to have a shower stall w/o a door which the Bryton Rep told me would work. Well it seems 2 weeks into the project .. the glass guy says that will not work & you will have splash out. Now I've got to add the extra expense of a shower door. I had no way of knowing what this project was going to cost up front because of having to contract out (which Bryton's made seem it was so easy ... just go to Lowes or Home Depot, buy your items & they will install for you ... it was not that easy & very time consuming). Needless to say I would not use Bryton's again nor would I recommend them to a friend. They have too many layers of people they are paying. I spoke to 9 different people  during my project, seems everyone has a separate duty. Also they asked if I wanted a permit for inspection, originally I said no that I didn't think it was necessary .. but the more I dealt with them "I didn't have a warm fuzzy" so I told them I did want the plumbing inspector to come out, to me that really shouldn't have even been asked, that should be part of their process & a requirement. I guess it's another way for them to save money. <br />"

FAQs for cabinets refinish projects in Hope Mills, NC

To find the best cabinet refinishing expert for your project, start by researching local pros and reading reviews from previous customers. Reach out to a few contractors to discuss your cabinets' size, condition, and the look you're aiming for. Don't hesitate to ask for references or examples of their past work. Speaking with previous clients can give you valuable insights into the pro's workmanship and reliability.

When speaking with potential cabinet refinishing pros, consider asking them several questions to gauge their experience and professionalism. These questions can help you gauge the pro's experience and determine if they align with your needs.

  • Do you offer a guarantee on your work?

  • Can you create custom finishes or colors?

  • Do you have examples or samples of your past projects?

  • Are you able to match the finish to other cabinets in my home?

  • How long will the project take from start to finish?

Regular care will help maintain the beauty of your cabinets for years to come. To keep your refinished cabinets looking their best, follow these steps:

  • Use gentle cleaners: Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that can damage the finish. A simple mixture of warm water and mild dish soap works well.

  • Clean carefully: Instead of spraying solutions directly onto the cabinets, apply them to a soft microfiber cloth and wipe gently.

  • Protect from heat and moisture: Try to minimize exposure to excessive heat or moisture, which can affect the finish over time.

It's usually less costly to refinish cabinets than to replace them, depending on the cabinet condition. Refinishing cabinets cost an average of $3,114 while replacing cabinets is about $5,000 or more. When deciding to refinish or replace cabinets, consider several factors, including how old your cabinets are, your budget, and whether you need to complete any other renovation projects at the same time.

It may be worth resurfacing (also known as refacing) your cabinets if they’re in good shape but you’re interested in a different look. This is often less expensive than replacing cabinets outright and can allow you to update the look of your cabinets to reflect your kitchen’s current style without having to get rid of them entirely. The cost to reface cabinets is around $4,300 to $10,000, and you can hire a local cabinet refacing pro to handle this work.

Refinishing cabinets takes about two to three days to complete. The process begins with removing cabinet doors, drawers, and hardware, followed by cleaning, stripping, and sanding the surfaces. Any chips, stains, or splits are repaired before applying paint or stain. After applying the finish, the cabinets are reassembled, and the workspace is cleaned up, leaving your cabinets refreshed and renewed.
