"He was fast and pleasant to talk to but after it was all done I could see that the cabinets were not properly sanded before they were painted. After it was done, he cleaned out his painting equipment in the front yard which killed the lawn where the paint soaked into it. I had to have him come back and repaint a cabinet door and apparently he wasn't too happy about that because he verbally tried to intimidate me by arguing politics."

"This is the second time I have hired Brewer's Painting. They did an exceptional job! As a local family business with years of experience, they take pride in their work and it shows in the quality of the job done. They are honest, hardworking, very responsive, punctual and courteous. They answered all my questions and addressed any concerns that I had and were very easy and pleasant to work with. I was impressed with the level of care taken to protect our home while they worked in it and how clean they left it at the end of every day. They have our highest recommendation!"

"<p>We want to thank Dennis, Mike and Scott for all their assistance and hard work to repair and renovate our master bathroom.  This was one of the best experiences we've had with a repair or renovation business.  This business is very customer service oriented and will take care of all your requirements or needs.  From the time Dennis arrived to provide the initial estimate and throughout the entire renovation process we had the feeling that we would get what we wanted at a fair price.  </p> We started the project with a long list of items we wanted changed in our master bedroom but first they had to repair our badly water damaged bathroom subfloor, floor joists and main load bearing beam for the floor joists.  They carefully removed all the master bathroom items such as the old tub and shower, toilet, sinks, medicine cabinets, vanity cabinets, exhaust fan system and existing electrical wiring.  They then removed the water damaged flooring, subflooring, joists and main bean.  They properly disposed of all the damage material and took great care to protect the rest of the house while removing all this old and damaged material.  They then demolished a wall in order to install a new pocket door along with relocating and installing some additional electrical wiring to support new light fixtures and a heating system for our new tile floor.  Once all the damage flooring was removed, the new construction process began, they installed a new ledger beam, joists and subfloor, and moveed drain lines for the new tile shower and new sinks.  They next installed a new custom walk in tile shower with customer plumbing to provide mulitple shower spays.  Next they installed the heated tile floor in the entire bathroom area, built new walls, installed the pocket door, and a new set of double doors into the master bedroom area.  They installed new vanity cabinets in the sink area along with all new plumbing to the new sinks  We are very pleased with the entire effort and want to thank they the guys again for all their work to make our master bathroom remodeling project a success.  We will definitely be contacting Dennis in the future wen we decide to do our next project. <br /> <br />"

"Everything went well.  They came, installed the carpet and the job was finished in around 2 hours.  The guys were professional and would definitely recommend them.  Price was under the price from Lowe's.  Through the home remodeling we tried to use Lowe's & Home Depot. <br />"

"The first problem I had after signing the contract is you are required to pay $1,000.00 that day. IF you don't sign/pay & you decide later to have the service done ... you will be charged a fee for someone else to come out & re measure. Another guy did come out the next day (to re measure), but he really came to collect an additional 7k, The first day the installers arrive on site they request another 8k. At this point I've paid 16K & have nothing to show for it ... the work has not even begun. Evidently they use your money to order the necessary supplies or insure they have your money so you will not change your mind. All of this was spelled out in the contract ...which I should have read & more carefully. I did try to cancel the contract but it was after the 3 day window & I was told if I cancelled I would have to pay 10 - 50 percent of the job (for nothing)! Bryton's claims they can "do it all", but they are not licensed to or don't have in their employ someone to handle all of your needs (ex. electricians, painters, etc.). They will however contract the work out on your behalf (for an additional fee that is above & beyond the price the contractor charges them).  I also did not like the fact that the contract was not itemized as to what each thing was costing me. Just a lump sum total. I was disappointed at the quality of the items I received. For the amount I paid I should have received top of the line products. Had to settle for vinyl instead of porcelain tile, chrome fixtures instead of brushed nickel, "hard service" aka plastic vanity top instead of quartz or granite, the faucets are so short you can't even get your hands under them for washing, the sinks are small (looks like they belong in a play house. My cabinets they hauled out of here were a better grade than my new "upgraded cabinets"! The cabinets & drawers did not even come with handles, I had to buy them & they were kind enough to put them on (which splintered the doors when they drilled the holes. I had to hire someone to put in my lighting, exhaust fan/light, the glass for the shower & for painting. Bryton's finished up today, but I'm on week 3 & still can't use the bathroom because I'm waiting on the glass for the shower & still trying to locate a painter. My intent was to have a shower stall w/o a door which the Bryton Rep told me would work. Well it seems 2 weeks into the project .. the glass guy says that will not work & you will have splash out. Now I've got to add the extra expense of a shower door. I had no way of knowing what this project was going to cost up front because of having to contract out (which Bryton's made seem it was so easy ... just go to Lowes or Home Depot, buy your items & they will install for you ... it was not that easy & very time consuming). Needless to say I would not use Bryton's again nor would I recommend them to a friend. They have too many layers of people they are paying. I spoke to 9 different people  during my project, seems everyone has a separate duty. Also they asked if I wanted a permit for inspection, originally I said no that I didn't think it was necessary .. but the more I dealt with them "I didn't have a warm fuzzy" so I told them I did want the plumbing inspector to come out, to me that really shouldn't have even been asked, that should be part of their process & a requirement. I guess it's another way for them to save money. <br />"

FAQs for cabinets reface projects in Hope Mills, NC

Absolutely. Refacing returns 65% to 80% of your investment at resale, and you get an updated kitchen right now. Because you’re not paying for new boxes or demo work, the price lands well below complete replacement but still delivers a fresh, custom look that buyers—and you—notice every time you walk in.

To trim costs, start by pricing a high-quality paint or gel stain instead of full refacing—stain alone can be one-third the price of full refacing. Keep existing hinges and pulls if they’re in good shape, and shop sales for sandpaper, primer, and sealer. The sweat equity is real, but so are the savings, and a careful DIY job can still leave your cabinets looking sharp for years to come.

A professional crew needs only three to five days to reface a standard kitchen, although a larger layout or intricate door style may add one to two days. Compare that with the several weeks a full cabinet swap can drag on. In other words, you get your space back fast, often before the paint on the new doors is even fully cured.

Yes, you can replace just the cabinet doors and drawer fronts without covering the cabinet boxes. Cabinet refacing involves installing new doors and drawer fronts while applying veneers to existing cabinet boxes. If you’re satisfied with the condition of your cabinets, swapping doors and drawer fronts reduces labor and materials, saving you time and cost. Always consult a professional to confirm compatibility and ensure a seamless, high-quality finish.

Most cabinet refacing projects do not require removing countertops because professionals can access doors and drawers around existing surfaces. However, if your countertop overhang prevents full access to the cabinet boxes, contractors may need to lift the countertop to install veneers properly temporarily. Discuss this with your refacing specialist during the on-site estimate so you know exactly what the project entails.
