American Janitorial Services, INC d/b/a American Window Cleaning is Alaska's oldest and most reputable window cleaning company. Having been in business under the same family ownership since 1964. Tom Rosling's blood, sweat and tears built this business and his honor and reputation is the glue that has held it together. Through the years, many other companies have challenged him, his name and his reputation by making false statements, accusations, attempting to drag his name down to try and better their own. The Rosling family has always taken the higher road and let their quality, knowledge, honesty and dependability speak for itself. You don't stay in business for 50 years and remain the largest, most sought after company in the state by producing poor quality or service. The day to day operations are now ran by his daughter, Amy who was born into the business and has worked every aspect of it through out the years. Amy is out in the field almost every day of the year and during the summer months you are likely to see Tom by her side. In the winter months, we run a core group we fondly call our "Varsity team" of 6-10 employees and vamp up our staffing in the summer months with equally as experienced window cleaners along with entry level positions to 15-20 employees. We hold approximately 85% of the commercial accounts in Anchorage and are the only company that remains consistent in our loyalty to our customers outside the Anchorage and Valley areas including the Kenai Peninsula and our bi-annual visits to our loyal customers in Fairbanks. Our accounting department works closely with the crew and creates invoices upon job completion. We offer internet invoicing via email, faxed invoicing and regular Postal mailed invoicing to suit each clients needs. Our invoices are due upon receipt unless otherwise negotiated within their contracts, however, if our clients find themselves requiring special consideration, a simple phone call to us will find someone more than willing to make special considerations. We are licensed, bonded and insured. Requiring each employee to pass an annual background check. We have a strict anti-drug and alcohol policy and offer wellness awards and safety awards to our employees for motivation.

Yes, dryer vent cleaning is absolutely worth it. It’s a key safety measure, preventing potential dryer fires caused by lint buildup. Beyond safety, regular cleaning improves your dryer's efficiency, leading to faster drying times and lower energy bills. It also extends the lifespan of the dryer, saving you money on repairs or premature replacement. The average cost of cleaning is a small investment for the significant benefits and peace of mind it provides.
Yes. You should contact a specialist for thorough dryer vent cleaning. Licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, or companies dedicated to dryer vent cleaning have the expertise and equipment to manage every vent configuration, including challenging setups like roof-installed or extended duct systems. Reaching out to a qualified professional ensures both safety and efficiency throughout the cleaning process.
While it might seem like a quick solution, using a leaf blower to clean your dryer vent is not recommended. Using a leaf blower often pushes lint deeper into the vent or causes it to become more compacted, creating a worse clog. This can also damage the vent material, especially flexible ducts, leading to tears and further fire hazards. For effective and safe cleaning, a specialized dryer vent cleaning kit with a brush or a powerful vacuum with a long hose attachment is preferred, or even better, hiring a professional.
Clean your dryer vent at least once per year to keep your dryer operating efficiently and prevent fires. If your dryer is located far from an exterior wall, increase the frequency of cleanings to twice a year. Doing laundry daily for a large household requires an increase to quarterly cleanings to keep the vents and ducts clear of debris.
You cannot operate a standard dryer without a properly attached vent hose. An unconnected vent forces hot, moist air into your home, which compromises indoor air quality and accelerates mold and mildew growth. This unsafe condition not only raises the risk of fires but also leads to extensive repair expenses, as it breaches local building codes that require external venting.
