"Absolute waste of time and money. I scheduled a very simple job - replace two exterior wall sconces (porch lights) with two new ones. The old ones work fine, we just want to update the look. Scheduled service for a date and time and acknowledged there is a $69 service/trip fee which is waived if you have them do the work; no problem. They even called day-of to see if tech could come out earlier than scheduled, which worked fine. When tech arrived, I explained the very straightforward job I wanted done. He looked over the new parts, and I thought we'd be good to go. Then he said that before he did anything he had to do a "safety inspection." An hour later he quoted me a multi-thousand dollar bid to replace all sorts of equipment I had no interest in replacing. And the simple job, if he did just that, would be over $550. I declined, and so it cost me $69 to have no work done and waste my time. I will either do this myself or find a local handyman. Avoid this company like the plague."

"They did a real good job and made sure their repairs didn't create other alignment problems: after installing new fence posts, they also aligned the attached gate so it would still close."

"We were very pleased with Corey O. He listened to what I wanted done and did exactly that! He explained all work to be done and the price. The process from customer service to the completion of the project was professional and timely! If the need arises, we will not hesitate to call them again and request Corey!"

FAQs for electrical for home addition or remodel installation projects in Houston, TX

There are several telltale signs that your home is due for an electrical upgrade. You may need to rewire your house if your lights are constantly flickering or your circuit breaker keeps tripping. If you feel mild electric shocks when you touch light switches, hear buzzing sounds, or notice burning smells, you may need to rewire your house, too. Discolored or burnt-looking switches and faceplates are another crucial warning sign.

Properly installed copper wiring in a residential property can last as long as 50 to 100 years in some cases, but many homes over 30 years old are due for an upgrade. That’s the timeline that many experts recommend, even if it is only a partial update to accommodate technological advancements, increased power demands, and changing safety requirements.

At $3 to $5 per square foot, the cost to wire a 2,000-square-foot house ranges from $6,000 to $10,000, on average. This can depend on many factors, like the age and complexity of the house and how easy it is for contractors to access the areas they need to get the job done. Opening and repairing walls can further add to your total cost.
