Small jobs welcome

DAM Concrete is a new company, built off of 10+ years in the trade. I started with my families company in Toledo, OH and then I joined Local 886 as an apprentice and in 4 years I became a Foreman. I decided to move down the Columbus 3 years ago working as a supervisor for a company. I've been on all sorts of projects from residential driveways and stamped patios, to commercial warehouses and apartment building to just name a few. I've always had the goal to own my own company one day, and I'm starting to live that dream.

"Chris' crew was very professional and they arrived on time, removed the old driveway, and poured the new one without a problem (including putting in a drain). The new cement looks great and hopefully will last for a long, long, time! We were kept informed through the whole process. The cost was more than some estimates we got, but I do think you get what you pay for...and we now have a great concrete driveway!"

"It went smoothly exactly as Paul described the job. His crew installed a sump pump and ensured in drained to the curb. The crew replaced the drain run to the curb and dug around the existing bushes. The crew also connected the the roof downspout to the run to the curb. The crew installed a perforated pipe in a trench which created a floating basement floor on 3 sides of the basement. (the 4th wall was not necessary since was an interior wall.) They concreted over the pipe with a gap to the wall. they repaired and painted the basement walls."

"I'm very pleased. I had concerns about dust and fumes from the epoxy. The dust was minimal and fumes were not an issue at all. If I had to do it all over again, I'd set up a box fan with filters, as I've seen on YouTube, but even without that, the dust was not overwhelming. The workers arrived on time, explained what they were going to do and welcomed my checking in on them. When they went to lunch, they cleaned up their work area, (even put the toilet seat down in the basement bathroom), something I didn't expect at all. I had questions when they were at lunch, and the salesman got the answers I needed quickly. A couple of things I would change about this process: 1. After they were done, cleaned the area for the day, and put their equipment away, one of the workers invited me downstairs to approve their work. If I had not approved, it was a bit late for me to object as they were packed and ready to go. I suggest in the future the homeowner be asked for their approval before everything's packed up. Their work looked good, but this seemed like a manipulative tactic that wasn't appreciated. 2. The more experienced of the two workers explained early on that he needed to remove some insulation but assured me he'd put it back when he was done. When I saw that he'd not put it back, I mentioned it. He refused to put it back, saying "It doesn't matter". It was an odd way to end a perfect job up to that point. I was totally pleased with how everything was handled, and then that comment and behavior from him just put a bad taste in my mouth. That evening or the next day, I received a very nice gift from the company that was just a really nice touch. A couple of weeks later, we had heavy rains and I experienced water along the walls where the work was done. Within a week of me raising the concern, an arrangement for a technician to visit my home was made. I appreciate their prompt attention to the matter. I expect it's very simple like needing more epoxy at the base of the straps, so I decided to go ahead and submit this review. It's difficult to find trustworthy people to do work in your home. I'm very relieved I found a company that is totally worthy of that trust and highly recommend Acculevel. The work they did looks good and solid."

"Jacob is the best in the business. It’s very comforting to know I have a reliable contact for whenever I’m having any basement/water issues or any questions. He also has a lot of references for other projects. 10/10 recommend. Thanks again Jacob!"

"Due to inclement weather, the project was delayed a week while waiting for the ground to dry enough so he to use his Bobcat to bring the concrete into my backyard. However, the weather did not cooperate, so the following week Mr. Haning decided to wheelbarrow the concrete instead of postponing the project any longer.  He was punctual and professional and did a magnificent job. <br />"

"We needed some soffit repair on our 90 year old home because, well, wood doesn't last forever. We've Nicholson do some work for us before, always with outstanding results. For this job, some of the boards that needed to be replaced had a bead-board pattern that you won't find and Lowes or Home Depot. Nicholson found a place that was able to 100% match the existing pattern. Unlike other handymen I've worked with, Nicholson does as great job of letting you know when your project is going to start and when it does, the workers actually show up every day, on time. When the work was complete, it matched so well, you couldn't even see that repair work had been done! Finally, and this is a small thing, when I got the bill, the return envelope already had a stamp on it! That significant because, no matter how much you owe someone, you always end up paying for the postage. Nicholson is perhaps the only vendor in North America that provides return postage in the cost of a project."

FAQs for concrete flatwork repair & resurface projects in Howard, OH

When evaluating whether patching can address your concrete blemishes, it’s important to assess the extent of the damage. Minor issues such as small cracks or chipped areas may be effectively repaired with patching techniques that restore the surface’s appearance. However, if you notice widespread deterioration, significant cracks, or structural weakening, resurfacing is recommended as a more durable, long‑term solution. A thorough evaluation by a concrete specialist can help determine the best course of action for restoring your concrete to its optimal condition.

The optimal time to resurface your concrete driveway is late spring. This period benefits from warm temperatures and softened ground conditions following winter’s freeze‑thaw cycles, ensuring that the new overlay bonds securely and matures to a durable finish. Resurfacing at this time also enhances your property's safety and curb appeal. Engage a concrete professional to schedule your project during this ideal season.
