Small jobs welcome

DAM Concrete is a new company, built off of 10+ years in the trade. I started with my families company in Toledo, OH and then I joined Local 886 as an apprentice and in 4 years I became a Foreman. I decided to move down the Columbus 3 years ago working as a supervisor for a company. I've been on all sorts of projects from residential driveways and stamped patios, to commercial warehouses and apartment building to just name a few. I've always had the goal to own my own company one day, and I'm starting to live that dream.

"Samczuk Concrete & Masonry are extremely professional, highly knowledgeable, highly skilled workers and were always on-time per their schedule/plan. The owner is excellent with timely and thorough communication and answered all our questions before and throughout the project. He was always on-site and worked along with the crew. We had a 14’x29’ concrete patio with steps installed at the rear of our home. They colored the concrete with the colors we chose. The product and work being weather dependent, the owner always communicated schedule changes in advance. Their work & concrete products are extremely high quality, warranted and very reasonably priced. We got a very high quality patio at a very reasonable price. Choosing a concrete company is stressful when friends, family and neighbors don’t have any recommendations and we definitely made the right choice with Samczuk. We highly recommend this company and will be using them again to replace our asphalt driveway. Thank you Samczuk Concrete & Masonry!"

"The pad went wonderful, no complaints about the actual work. This had been the second time Brian Severs, Big B Concrete had done work for me. My issue is, 7 years after the work was done, Shirley Orwick, complained about the pad to the City of Columbus. The City of Columbus has notified me that I CANNOT use the pad for parking any storage of a camper, vehicle, trailer, etc.. After calling and sending a letter to Brian, I finally called him again to try and find out what the problem was. He stated he talked to a friend in the Zoning Dept. and was told there was no problem. Talking to a lady in the Zoning Department, it appears I do have a problem. I have to file for a Zoning Clearance and it's going to cost $90.00. I had already paid $1,800 seven years ago for the pad and now pay more. Talk about frustration! It isn't the extra money, but why didn't someone tell me seven years ago and fix it in the beginning? For someone who had done this work for so many years...why didn't Brian Severs complete the requirements in advantage...he could have added any cost to the contract. Now he states, "it's the homeowner is responsible to any permits. When a homeowner talks to a contractor, the contractor should let the homeowner that up front so the homeowner can have everything fixed before the work begins. We need to use contractors that know the requirements and work with the homeowner before the actual work begins."

"The first crew seemed like they were in a rush to get it all done in one day, and I had to have a different crew come back to finish the job the right way. Other than that it was ok"
