"We took our sketch to Dark Star for a quote after visiting several of the and quot;big boxand quot; stores for quotes. Our salesman Craig told us that he would email a quote in a day or so. We got the quote which was fully $1000 less than any of the big box store quotes and included a heavier better quality sink. We called and arranged for them to proceed. <br /> We went to their yard to select our granite. They told us that we could go to their suppliers if we did not find anything in the yard that met with our approval. We found the perfect slab of granite to do our job. Ours is a small kitchen so we were able to get the whole job out of one slab. The selection of granite was quite extensive in each different price category. Because our job was relatively small, the cost to upgrade from grade to grade was very reasonable. We were also told what the cost add would be for alternate edges and treatments. Overall we were very pleased with the price and proceeded with the order. <br /> On the day they came to make the template for the counter tops, they removed our existing counter tops. Before they left they re-installed the tops so we could continue to use our kitchen during the fabrication period. <br /> When they came to install the new tops, they arrived when they said they would be there, they brought enough men to do the job safely and quickly. They first leveled our existing cabinets which were badly out of level. They adjusted our dishwasher in the cabinet and installed the new sink and a new faucet which we purchased on line. They were very professional. I was so impressed with how at ease I felt with these men working in my home. They spent extra time explaining the care and cautions that every new granite owner should be aware of. They spent extra time to make sure that the area was clean and that our kitchen was ready for use. <br /> We had a plumber (Howerton) come in to install new traps and disposer and reconnect the dishwasher, which was our choice. Dark Star would have reconnected those items, but we wanted all new plumbing under our beautiful new counter tops. <br /> Overall, I would rate Dark Star a 10 out of 10 for service, ease of doing business and providing what was promised. As far as their price, I would give them an 11 out of 10. Best price and more flexibility in providing exactly what we wanted. I would recommend this company for work in your kitchen, bathroom or any area that you need lifetime quality to enhance your home. <br />"
