"Paul installed tile in the backsplash area above my kitchen countertops as the final step in a kitchen remodel project. He did a wonderful job! His bid was more than fair. He completed the job on schedule, and we are well pleased with the results. Very professional and trustworthy. I would definitely use them as a contractor again. Craig S."

"A technician from Thomas Edison Electric was available to come to our home on the same day of my request for project quotes. He was able to problem solve the issue and prepared a quote for upgrading the electric vehicle charger. We have not yet decided to do the upgrade but much appreciated the consultation and quote."

"I have been having trouble with my outdoor electricity for years and have been through a couple electricians. This was the first year I was able to keep all my Christmas lights shining in over a decade. He also installed a new light fixture in the basement storage area that is perfect, fixed two outdoor outlets, and was amazingly prompt. And - when I explained the I keep forgetting how to reset my breakers, he patiently explained the instructions while I filmed him with my iPhone - now I'll never forget. An absolute pleasure to do business with."

"We called MC Electrical LLC to get an estimate for our generator installation and Mike the owner came out the same day to come check everything out and provided an estimate by email within 24 hours!! Not only did he do an awesome job installing the generator but he also helped us purchase our generator through his Generac account which saved us about $1,500 on the actual unit!!! Mike and Keith are in my
Opinion the best electricians I've ever dealt with!! Not only are they very nice and very clean but they were on time and got this project done in a timely matter!! We will be using MC Electrical LLC for our basement Rewire as well as many many more projects!! We recommend MC Electrical LLC to ANYONE AND EVERYONE!! You will not be disappointed!! Thanks again Michael and crew for all of your hard work and help!!"

FAQs for electrical for home addition or remodel installation projects in Hummelstown, PA

There are several telltale signs that your home is due for an electrical upgrade. You may need to rewire your house if your lights are constantly flickering or your circuit breaker keeps tripping. If you feel mild electric shocks when you touch light switches, hear buzzing sounds, or notice burning smells, you may need to rewire your house, too. Discolored or burnt-looking switches and faceplates are another crucial warning sign.

Properly installed copper wiring in a residential property can last as long as 50 to 100 years in some cases, but many homes over 30 years old are due for an upgrade. That’s the timeline that many experts recommend, even if it is only a partial update to accommodate technological advancements, increased power demands, and changing safety requirements.

At $3 to $5 per square foot, the cost to wire a 2,000-square-foot house ranges from $6,000 to $10,000, on average. This can depend on many factors, like the age and complexity of the house and how easy it is for contractors to access the areas they need to get the job done. Opening and repairing walls can further add to your total cost.
