"I am having a truly unpleasant experience with 7th State Builders. I paid 14,450.00$ deposit in good faith. They were contracted to rebuild my deck, place a roof structure and screen on the deck. I trusted that they would complete the work. Instead, they took my money and one year later had not even started on the project. Not only did they fail to perform the agreed-upon services for the deck, but I was forced to hire an attorney to try and recover my deposit. Which I haven?t yet (over one year). Thus, creating unnecessary expenses to an already frustrating situation. I would strongly advise against using this company. "Our fence looks incredible! They came swiftly to do the work, and we still get compliments about how great our fence looks. We liked working with Henry. The first issue arose when the fence exceeded the quote and contract that we signed. We weren’t told this until the very end of the work, which was not great to say the least by an additional 20%. We knew there was some flexibility in the price, but it would’ve been nice to say, by the way, we’ve exceeded the estimated price and expect the final price to be in this range. Lastly, we also had issues with our gate hinges and called them back 3x until it was finally fixed. It was difficult to get them to come back out even though we were under warranty, and we encountered issues with their customer service and communication. We would probably still use them again for another fence but would only communicate with Henry."

"Initial rep was great and informative. Felt comfortable with initial sale. Hardly had any contact from customer service except for the payments. There were several delays that we were not informed about unless we called to ask. Took 7 months before they showed up to begin project. Only 1 person was sent to build steps. Took a week. Hard worked, hardly took a break. Had to call again to see when they would come to pour patio. Never knew when they were coming, they just showed up. Hardly spoke with the homeowners. Inspection paperwork was just left on porch. Additional paperwork that is "required by the County" had to be completed by homeowner and taken to Court house to be notarized and filed and also provide a copy back to Long Fence. Time sensitive materials which added to homeowners to-do list. Gave this contract to LF on the surface of their history and appearance of a 'good local company' but should have stayed with original contactors in VA. Puddle of water forms when it rains"
