"Highly recommend using Discount Fence! Roy was amazing- he is very professional and gave us some great advise. We wanted a fence that would keep our dog in the yard while still allowing us to watch the deer. Installation took one day, and Roy's team left no mess. Beyond happy with the quality and aesthetic of this fence!"

Customers say: Quality work

"Our builder's grade, 8 year-old fence finally blew down in a storm. The posts were rotted. Silver Leaf put up our new fence. They were awesome to deal with from start to finish. In four days, they took down our old fence and disposed of all the boards. Theydug 18" hole for the new metal posts (no small feat since we have a very rocky backyard). They were very polite and communicative, and talked to us before and each step of the way. When my husband asked for some minor changes, they listened and accommodated us. They showed up on time each morning and left the yard looking neat each evening. We were very pleased with the whole process and the outcome."

"Anthony was very quick to respond, worked up the estimate quickly and was easy to communicate with. He was building a fence for us and the weather was not cooperating (lots of rain). He gave me daily updates on what to expect and he was a delight to work with. The fence he built is quality and beautiful! Excellent job. Will be hiring him again!"

"Jared Yandell and his crew at Atx Fence & Deck did a fantastic job! Jared was competitive in pricing and we can verify this as we had numerous estimates. He was extremely patient with us as we asked many questions being 1st time fence buyers. Jared was punctual, professional and he and his crew arrived exactly on time. They worked all through the day and finished the project in one day just as they said they would. This company does high quality work with high quality materials. Jared and his crew are highly skilled with years of experience and perfectionists! The fence they built is beautiful and will withstand the test of time (dogs and children). We would use them again with no hesitation!"

"The owner showed up and was professional and gave an estimate. He took the time to assist with paint color choice and handled the purchasing of the paint/supplies. We were scheduled for one start date and got bumped to two weeks later due to a bigger job. The owner did offer to come when they could rather than two to three days straight as promised to speed the process up but this did not work with our schedules. The owner also stated he could install ceiling fans for a fee which we wanted to have done as well. We went over in advance what needed to be done with the owner and the the first two days of the job went well with the owner on site. The following days two younger employees (who were there the first two days) were sent. The work continued but there was one wall patch forgotten about and another that had to be redone which took more time. When the job was nearing completion we had to go back through and point out the areas that needed touch up including one wall that was missed. There was also considerable cleanup and texture overspray needing to be taken care of that had to be pointed out as well. The owner did not do the ceiling fans but had a younger employee attempt to hang them. Fortunately we were not charged which was fair as one fan was not mounted to the ceiling correctly and had to be rehung. The other jerks when starting the fan and is not mounted to the ceiling correctly either. This employee knowing he was going to be hanging ceiling fans however failed to bring a ladder or a drill to our house and we had to provide these. The two to three day job ended up taking seven days. There was an increase in the cost estimate due to the fact that the owner had not dealt with a texture as deep as what our walls had before. He did however see this during the estimate. The owner was responsive on the phone when told about issues. It was our decision since we did not pay for the fan installation, not to pursue correcting this issue. In the end the paint job was very good which made this project despite several issues, still successful. We were satisfied with the quality of the final product and would recommend using this company to others."

"Bottom line is that I think we ended up with a good fence and the pricing was fair. Communication was lacking and there was some inattention to detail that I ended up addressing myself. I believe that DBC is capable of quality work but dealing with them can be time consuming due to poor communication and follow-up. You'll need to have a lot of patience and be sure to carefully inspect your fence before the crew leaves your property. I have more fencing work to be done in the near future and I'm undecided whether to use them again. The whole reason for hiring fencing contractors was because I just don't have time to do the work myself. In the end we are happy with the fence they built but it would have been nice if things had gone smoother with scheduling and keeping us in the loop.
The good:
DBC Fence replaced the fencing along the front of our home. The existing cedar picket fence was falling apart due to age and storm damage. Two new gates were built and wooden posts were replaced with steel posts. The quoted price was fair and competitive with other quotes we received, particularly considering the gates. The demolition and rebuild was done quickly once the crew was onsite. The crew was polite, answered questions, and did a decent job of keeping the working area clean and free of debris. It looked like they dug post holes nice and deep and mixed concrete onsite using a generous amount. The materials appeared to be good quality, the fence looked great when they were done and the gates opened smoothly.
The not so good:
Communication wasn't the greatest with this company. While someone arrived in a timely manner to do measurements the actual written quote took over a week to arrive due to "computer problems." That wasn't a huge deal since it wasn't an emergency but it turned out to be indicative of future communication. There were some delays in getting our project started due to weather, no fault of DBC. On the day our job was supposed to start, we weren't given an estimated arrival time and my wife waited around the house all day until the crew finally arrived near the end of the day. On the first day new posts were set and the crew said they would be back on Saturday to finish. I didn't expect anyone to work over the weekend but that was their call. For some reason they stacked all the old fence panels by the street in front of our house before leaving. No idea why they didn't do the haul away but I figured no big deal if they were coming back the next day. We waited until late afternoon Saturday and called to check in. We were told that the crew would return Sunday instead. Odd, but OK. So we waited around the house Sunday and that didn't happen either. The crew ultimately didn't return until late Monday and the old fence debris was on our front lawn the whole weekend and most of Monday. Monday evening the fence was complete and looked OK on initial inspection. The next weekend I went to water seal the fence and and noticed a couple of things that bothered me. First, the pickets were secured to 3 cross beams and the middle of the pickets were nailed with a single nail while the top and bottom received the usual two nails. I don't know if this is a big deal but it seemed odd. Conserving nails? Second, I noticed that there appeared to be quite a few lag screws missing on the brackets that secured the cross beams to the metal posts. There  are two holes for screws on the brackets and about half the holes only a single screw was used. The use of one vs two screws was kind of haphazard. Again, I don't know it this is a big deal but it seemed sloppy. I emailed DBC initially and didn't get a response after about a week. I called and left a voice mail and didn't get a response after a few days. I called again and got a hold of Steve the owner. He apologized and said he'd come back out that Friday and take a look. Friday came and went and nobody came out. I called and left another message. I got a call back from Rachel a few days later saying that the guys would come out that morning. Nope, nobody came out. I decided it was going to be easier to just address it myself. It only took about 15 minutes and I used about 40 screws. Not a huge deal and maybe it doesn't affect structural integrity of the fence - I don't know. It seemed like we got blown off on this issue. Considering that DBC knew we were planning on doing more fence work (they quoted for the additional work to be done later in the year) I'm puzzled by this. I'm left not certain I'd hire them to do the next fence section.

FAQs for vinyl or pvc fence repair projects in Hutto, TX

Repairing or replacing a part of your fence is almost always less expensive than replacing it altogether. If your fence is in major disrepair or requires more than 20% to 30% replacement, it may be a better investment to replace your entire fence. Contact at least three fence repair specialists near you to get quotes for both a repair and replacement project.

All vinyl fences are made of PVC, a type of vinyl that stands for polyvinyl chloride. But not all PVC is the same. PVC resin is combined with other ingredients, giving it strength and weather-resistance. High-quality PVC vinyl fences include additives that provide more durability—and therefore cost more. Check out various types of vinyl fences and their features before deciding on your material.

You can repair small cracks or holes in your vinyl fence easily using a vinyl repair kit. If the crack is especially large or seems to be impacting the fence's integrity, you may need to replace the whole rail or post. However, you should hire a local fence installer for major repairs.

With proper maintenance and care, a vinyl fence can last up to 30 years. To ensure the longest life possible for your vinyl fence, ensure that it is installed properly and take care to check it regularly for any areas that may need minor maintenance or repair.
