"This company did a wonderful job on the pavers for the patio. It seem to be a difficult job due to the slope we have in the back yard. They executed the job great. We are very happy with the results. I would recommend them to my family and friends any day."

"He was friendly and very professional, explained what he would need to do and completed the work in a very timely manner. Upon talking with him I found out he also could do some repairs I needed done so he gave me an explanation of what material he would use, the cost for those and the repairs- and completed those while he was here. I am completely satisfied.amd would recommend him to anyone.. <br />"

"After the plants were installed, nobody came buy to check how they were doing or if we were satisfied. No follow up service was offered. The plants were almost all excellent and mainly well chosen for their location, but they were planted without new soil or fertilizer in the existing clay. If you want a good landscape plan and excellent specimens, then this a good choice. If you want a complete service with followup, then this not a good choice."

"I like the fact the way they keep in touch. I travel a lot but there's couple of things that we thought were gonna happen and they didn't but if I would to call him he would immediately came out. I would recommend him absolutely. So, what they did do is really have some plants and everything and he really took into consideration that I like gardening but I don't have a lot of time. So, I was very adamant that I wanted lawn maintenance plan. I would definitely use them and he's a really, really nice guy and I thought the price they charge was a very fair price."

"You need to call Lewis Landscape to set up this appointment, rather than rely on Angie's List forwarding it automatically. <br /> I was able to set up an appointment in a timely manner, and Mr. Lewis came out in a foot cast despite an injury.   His recommendations were clear and cogent, but for only $50 you're really not getting a full landscape plan so much as an expert's ideas and an estimate.   The ideas were reasonable and included some things I hadn't thought about; the estimate was also reasonable given the scope of the job. <br /> I did contract with him to do the work and paid an initial 50% down.  The work was to be done by the end of September but it is now October 3rd with no contact from Lewis.  I'm not overly concerned since there are always scheduling issues and I indicated that I was somewhat flexible, but I think you can expect 3-6 weeks scheduling delay with any work you contract for from this supplier, and you may need to do some follow-up phone calls yourself to stay on top of it. <br />"

"We were looking for landscaping and they recommended someone who would do it. They were prompt and creative. They have done beautiful work. There were several people involved and they were all up and nice. They were wonderful to work with. They did what they said they were going to do. The work is done so exclusively. We are happy with them. They were excellent. This was one of the best experiences that we had. I would use them in the future."

FAQs for brick and stone patios, walks, and steps installation projects in Ionia, MI

When cleaning your flagstone patio, begin by gently hosing off loose dirt and debris. Use a mild solution of white vinegar and water or diluted dish soap to scrub the surface with a soft-bristled brush. Avoid using abrasive tools, such as wire brushes, as they can damage the stone’s seal and finish. This careful approach effectively removes mold and grime while preserving the natural beauty of your patio.

Flagstone naturally offers a neutral palette that includes shades of grey, black, red, yellow, brown, and tan, and its inherent color cannot be altered. Choosing varieties like bluestone provides a subtle bluish tint that complements many exterior designs. These natural hues enhance curb appeal and create a refined, timeless look in your outdoor space, ensuring a sophisticated finish with minimal upkeep.

Flagstone for a patio must have a minimum thickness of 1.5 inches to reliably support furniture and foot traffic. Using stone that is two to three inches thick is recommended to ensure lasting durability. The increased thickness prevents cracking under load and enhances long-term performance. Investing in thicker flagstone provides superior stability and resistance to weather conditions, ensuring your outdoor space remains both safe and attractive.

You can paint a flagstone patio by using a high-quality, outdoor elastomeric latex paint designed for heavy foot traffic. Painting not only refreshes the patio’s appearance but also creates a waterproof barrier that protects the stone from damage. Regular reapplication every one to two years maintains its durability and visual appeal, ensuring your patio remains both stylish and well-protected.
