Customers say: Quality work

"Wireone states they give you qoute before the service. When I asked how much GFCI outlet change would cost, call center agent gave me $ 69. Turns out this was just for sending an electrician and the price was $227. I don't think this was electrian's fault but be wary of wireone's deceptive marketing practice."

"Lane and his team Andy and Kegan were very professional. Came and walked me through the whole process and made this whole process less stressful. They were all very polite. They had respect for my home and cleaned up before they left everyday and did an amazing job while rewiring my whole house! I will be calling Lane again for any of my electrical needs in the future! Customers say: Quick response

"While remodeling a room in our basement, we decided to add more lighting to the room. Matt was able to help rewire and add recessed lighting to our now usable room. He was spot on with his estimates and explained everything he was doing. The best part was that it was completed quickly and left the space spotless!"

"Ricks Electric did an amazing job getting my power back on I had a fuse box catch fire and had to have a whole new box installed as well as everything outside. He was able to get everything wired in the new box and I have full power now. If anyone needs a dedicated electrician use Ricks electric out of Washington ia"

My name is Gary Tallman, and I am a semi-retired General Construction Remodeling Contractor of 35 years to Eastern Iowa. We are the home of the perfect install. A few years ago I decided to slow down a little and to simplify things a bit. We did this by narrowing our business advertising focus to primarily market for the repair and replacement of residential and commercial doors, windows, and skylights. It's been a perfect match for me because it takes a full skill set to do this work, and it helps to keep me off the taller ladders..and that makes me a happy craftsman :)\nI'd like to mention that we chose to honor the community by offering senior and military discounts.\nD.B.A Cedar Rapids Entry & Window.

FAQs for electrical for home addition or remodel installation projects in Iowa City, IA

There are several telltale signs that your home is due for an electrical upgrade. You may need to rewire your house if your lights are constantly flickering or your circuit breaker keeps tripping. If you feel mild electric shocks when you touch light switches, hear buzzing sounds, or notice burning smells, you may need to rewire your house, too. Discolored or burnt-looking switches and faceplates are another crucial warning sign.

Properly installed copper wiring in a residential property can last as long as 50 to 100 years in some cases, but many homes over 30 years old are due for an upgrade. That’s the timeline that many experts recommend, even if it is only a partial update to accommodate technological advancements, increased power demands, and changing safety requirements.

At $3 to $5 per square foot, the cost to wire a 2,000-square-foot house ranges from $6,000 to $10,000, on average. This can depend on many factors, like the age and complexity of the house and how easy it is for contractors to access the areas they need to get the job done. Opening and repairing walls can further add to your total cost.
