"If you are looking for an honest, highly qualified mason then look no further. James started when he said he would, communicated when needed, was hard working and finished when promised. He charged a very fair rate as well. And my 20 year old patio looks like new. I would not hesitate to hire him again."

"Ron and his team did a AWSOME job. They removed a walkway that was falling apart with old, worn and broken pavers and replaced it with a beautiful walkway/patio. We wanted an updated look around our in ground pool. He removed our outdated and overground landscape and added to the existing patio to give us an entertainment area. Ron is 100% professional, and covers all the areas and goes the extra mile to make sure all the work is done to the customers satisfaction. He protected all our outside walls, the pool itself, and grated the areas affected by the new concrete. He made sure everything was completely finished. He left no stone unturned. (no pun intended) All these factors to contribute to not only a job well done, but a job that you will be both pleased and proud. I would hire this man any day of the week and twice on Sunday."

"This was a difficult job, requiring a lot of thought, and a lot of know-how and craftsmanship; Mike Healy provided all of that to our project. What made the job more difficult was that we preferred to re-use the old bricks (that fit in with our brick house facade), and to keep the concrete slab that formed the core of the stoop. Mike had a great attitude, being happy to do the job the way we wanted, even though tearing everything out and re-building from scratch would have been easier, and probably more lucrative for him. Mike was delayed in starting because of circumstances beyond his control. Once he started, he showed up on time, put in long days, and worked extremely hard and diligently. And the results reflect everything I have mentioned: skill, conscientiousness, and also real pride in his workmanship. In short, he did a beautiful job! This review would not be complete without mentioning Mike Healy's personality. He is a friendly, likable, and wholesome young man, who, in addition to being an excellent mason, is a pleasure to have around."

"From start to finish I had a very good experience with Joe Andreassi who was professional, a good communicator, and fair in pricing. He did exactly what was discussed in repairing my front porch and building a new step and landing, building window well surrounds, and patching a brick pad. His assistants are family, so there are good work relationships. The work area was cleaned when they were done. Aside from the work, I was so impressed that Joe captured and released many toads that were living under the porch. Great guy!"

FAQs for interlocking pavers for patios, walks & steps installation projects in Irondequoit, NY

To calculate your paver needs:

  • Determine how many pavers cover a square foot.

  • Determine how many square feet you need.

  • Add an additional 10% to 20% for breakage and waste.

  • Consider your pavers’ sizes.

Or, you can hire a local pro who you know will get the right measurements the first time. This way, you get your weekend back instead of spending it measuring square footage.

A pallet of pavers costs $300 to $700 on average, and each pallet covers 56 square feet. The exact price depends on the type, size, and quantity of pavers you choose. Buying in bulk can sometimes offer additional savings, especially for larger projects. Ask your pro how you can save on material costs.

To get the best prices on pavers:

  • Hire a professional landscaper: Pros often receive discounts on materials, which can make hiring them more cost-effective overall.

  • Shop at local building supply stores: Check for overstock or bulk purchase deals. Bulk purchasing can be more costly up front but save you money in the long run.

  • Buy directly from manufacturers: Purchasing from a local brickyard or paver factory can offer competitive prices, especially for large quantities.

The main difference between driveway pavers and patio pavers is their load-bearing capacity. Driveway pavers are designed to withstand the weight of vehicles, whereas patio pavers aren’t suitable for such heavy loads. You can use driveway pavers for a patio, but using patio pavers for a driveway could lead to damage. Always check the weight limits of pavers and consult with a professional installer to choose the right type for your project.

Paver patios cost more than concrete patios because the materials and installation methods require advanced techniques and skilled labor. They deliver enhanced aesthetic appeal and allow for easier small‑scale repairs without affecting property taxes. The higher expense arises from premium paver materials and intricate installation processes that deliver long‑lasting durability and design flexibility. This robust solution provides notable benefits over concrete alternatives, making it a valuable investment for homeowners.
