"Barnett responded promptly to repair my storm damaged roof. Patrick was very knowledgeable and made repairs in the rain. Very pleased with the response and the work. Plan on having additional work completed by Barnett to fix work performed by a different roofing company."

"Excellent quality of work on 2-day job. 2-man crew was courteous & efficient, clean-up was perfect. They didn’t want any $ up front or even upon completion, but sent an invoice a week or so later. Price was on the high side, but worth it for quality of work. Would hire again."

"Viorel was very professional through out the quoting process. He made sure to work around our schedule and was always on time. During the work day my wife, newborn son, and I left for the day to avoid the excess commotion. Upon finding rotten boards he immediately called to let me know the situation and that he was going to do it right, but it may come out more than expected. I really appreciated his promptness in communicating with me and making sure the job was done correctly as replacing a roof is not something to cut corners on. As soon as they were done he called to let me know they were finished. Upon arrival I was very surprised on how well his team cleaned up and left my property exactly the way it was. If I need a roof again in the future (hopefully not for quite some time) I will definitely be contacting Viorel and his crew."

"In repsonse to my call last week about a minor leak in my roof, Carl Bennett responded as promised this morning.  He arrived promtly about 20 minutes after his call, with his crew.  Crew members inspected the roof and found a vent not sealed properly.  They  inspected the attic from within and verfied that the vent was the problem.  The leaky vent, was sealed, along wih 3 others as a precaution.  The service call was prompt, and the work was done immediately at a very reasonable cost.   <br /> Have used this service once before, and will definitely use Carl Bennett Roofing Co should any future prolems arrive.   <br /> (Please note that Carl Bennett Roofing Co did not install my roof - it was installed back in 2011 after a damaging hail storm, by a different crew, for the previous owner.) <br />"

"I called Jess after learning from two other handyman and/or roofing repair services (both highly-rated by Angie's List) that it would be at least $150-$250 and two weeks for them to get to me. Jess was on another job, but was at a stopping point. He went to his shop, picked up a ladder and went by my house to see what it would take to fix the ridge vent on my roof. When my son and I got home, he wanted to see the hole in the roof so I took him out back and to our surprise, Jess had already been there and repaired the problem and another small problem he noted while he was up there. Same-day service and at a fraction of what two of the larger services would have charged just for the service call. I have already lined up more work for him for myself and a friend! Highest possible ratings and many thanks!"

"They did a good job. We had a hail storm which is what caused the problem and also made all the roofing companies in the area very busy. All things considered it was a really tough time for everyone in this trade of work and I believe they did a great job."

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Jacksboro, TN

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
