I was so happy with this experience that I told the owner, David, to please give my phone number to anyone considering his services as I would be happy to serve as a personal reference. My aging condo complex is five units with two stories of Spanish Tiles, multiple custom skylights that were leaking, and a tremendous amount of rotted wood. I interviewed 11 companies over six months to gather as much information as possible on a subject I knew nothing about. This was such a big job that I wanted to make sure I gathered as much information as I could. The amount of meetings and research I did can be measured not in hours, but in days. I am thrilled that I finally chose Cowboys Roofing & Construction. David and his men were absolutely fantastic from start to finish. They handled every aspect of tile removal/replacement, wood replacement, skylight replacement, flashing, underlayment replacement, and painting. The job was done quickly, efficiently, and safely for both the workers and the tenants at the complex. The prices were extremely competitive and I feel like I received tremendous value on what amounted to a monumental job. I am so happy with this company that I felt compelled to write this review. "I was planning to put solar panels on my roof, so needed a roof inspection. I wanted to make sure my roof would last at least 10 more years. I selected several companies and A-1 Budget roofing responded promptly and had a good price. I found out that my existing roofing felt (tar paper) was worn and needed replacing, but my tile was in good shape and could be reused. <br /> First, I had my roof tile cleaned to remove algae. <br /> Then A-1 Budget roofing scheduled the work around the rain, and coordinated the installation with the solar panel company. They removed and stacked the old tile on my roof, removed the old roofing felt and replaced with two layers of 40 pound felt. They had the solar company place their brackets on the roof so they could properly seal them before they completed the re-roofing. This took several days to complete, but all was done before the rain. <br /> They also removed some very old bird nests that were tucked under the eaves, and put up bird stop to keep those birds from nesting again. They replaced some flashing as needed and some broken tile, and when they were done all of the color matched perfectly. <br /> The original bid was for $8500 and he had to check on permit fees from the city. The final invoice included the original $8500, minor costs of $64 for new fascia board, and $380 for roofing permit. <br /> My new roof is warranted for 10 years, but they told me it should last another 40 - 50 years with two layers of 40 pound felt. <br />"

"I was looking into replacing my 20+ yrs tile roof to the Tesla solar roof but after months of waiting (I pre-ordered the solar roof and it was stuck at the design phase), Tesla told me that they no longer serve my area and refunded me the money. As I was looking for an alternative, I came across GAF's solar shingles and I was very interested in them. Guardian Roofs is GAF's certified installer in SoCal area. Larry from Guardian Roofs reached out to me within a day after I filled out the "Request for a Quote" form on GAF's website. Told me about their company and we chatted about my needs for the new roof and solar system. Within the next few days, he sent me a proposal, explained every single detail to me carefully and patiently answered all of my questions and concerns. He truly enjoy working with Larry because he would find out the answers for any questions he wasn't able to answer on the call and actually called me back and explained them to me thoroughly. I called/emailed six roofing companies/contractors, only four responded within the first week with a quote. The quote from Guardian Roofs was the second lowest (cheaper than Tesla's solar roof). The other three quotes were traditional solar panels and reroof using the existing tiles. I quickly decided to go Guardian Roof's quote not only it's much cheaper than Tesla's solar roof, but their panels also looked much nicer than the traditional ones. My only concern was that without the space between the rack and roof, how would the heat generated by the panels being released? I asked Larry this question and he explained to me but I didn't quite understand, so I asked the owner, Justin, the same question during the installation and he explained to me by showing me the actual products. Turned out the combination of the underlaying sheet, GAF's Timberline Shingles and the actual panels were playing a big part in handling the heat. The installation took a week to complete. I'm very pleased that the owner himself actually came out a couple of days and climbed on the roof to make sure everything was done correctly. He was also there to answer all of my questions about the job. Additionally, GAF sent a technician from the San Jose headquarter to oversee the installation of the panels. Not the mention William (the lead installer from Guardian Roofs) and his crew did a great job cleaning up the area after the job was completed."

The guys who worked on it were friendly and professional, and they even fixed the sink for us when the faucet leaked. "Dennis and his son Adam were very responsive to the initial request for a repair quote, when most other roofers were "too busy" during the heavy rains. Adam showed up "on time" on the designated day, and did a thorough inspection of the leak and roof problems. Adam even went as far as to "take pictures" of the weathered/worn roofing and showed them to me, indicating where the problem leaks were probably occuring. Once Adam provided the "estimate", we asked if he could do the work "immediately". Adam called and verified with Dennis, and initiated the quoted repairs "on the spot". This was very much appreciated, as more heavy rains were on the way. Adam mentioned that the original roof, appeared to be well installed, so the repair should fix all of the leaking issues... Neither Adam nor Dennis, attempted to pressure or sale me into a "new roof"; although they will be on my short-list, when the time comes for a new roof. Very professional, courteous and responsive. Highly recommend their services."

"The roof was first replaced end of September 2020. The end result was sloppy as they used pieces of the granulated torch down cap sheet. There was black tar all over with footprints and other areas of a pinkish color and white material in certain areas. It was also discussed about the water pooling around the skylights after it rains. The problem wasn't solved on the first reroof or the second time around. (November 2020) And we were charged an extra $2,000 for plywood and 2x6's to lift that area. It just rained and it's a pool of water again. So that was just a waste of our money. Overall the cap sheet looks much better on the second reroof as they went from side to side with long rolls instead of using the scraps from other jobs. They also ran into our garage with their debris truck along with scraping the side of the exterior garage wall with the plywood. And dIdn't clean up well either. It was a very unpleasant experience and we would not recommend using this company."
