"The meter and shutoff valve for our recently bought house are located under a metal plate in the sidewalk in front of our property, making them difficult to access. We got very high water bills the first two months and we were at loss to know why. So we hired Big Little Plumbing to find the cause and get an estimate for running the outside water line to the inside of the garage, installing a new water meter and shutoff valve and rerouting the water pipe for the front hose bib. The new meter would allow us to check if water is being used when all the faucets and toilet tanks are not running. The new main shutoff valve would allow us to shutoff water to the whole house when we are away from Hawaii. We accepted the estimate and work began 10 days later. Mike Wessel and his assistant Josh worked diligently all day digging to reach the existing underground pipe, running new pipes to and from the garage, installing the meter, shutoff valve and a new pressure regulator and rerouting the pipe for the hose bib. When they finished at the end of the day, Mike told us not to run water for 24 hours so that the glue will dry at the joints. That put us in spot as it meant we couldn't wash and use the toilet. We had to run to the store that evening and buy a big bucket so that we could fill it with water from an hose bib for washing and toilet. When we returned home, we were surprised to find Mike and Josh there with head lamps checking on the new plumbing. Mike told us we could run water after all which was a relief for us. Mike returned a week later to check on the new plumbing and replaced the kitchen faucet and washer's shutoff valve. All in all, an excellent service from Mike and the company. <br /> PS We found that the high water bills were due to the lawn sprinklers running too long and often. The previous owners had set them up that way. We shut them all down as it is winter, the wettest time of the year in Hawaii. <br />"
