"Mark and his crew did a GREAT job. Project involved moving an 8 hot tub (1200 lbs empty) off a 4 high deck, reinforcing the deck under the tub with an additional pier, redecking and reinstalling the hot tub. I had a couple contractors walk away and another just went for broke and wanted to replace the whole thing. Mark (a Marine) took it on as no problem, I've got a good crew) and he wasnt lying. They showed up on time (despite an issue with their truck) and went to work. Built a ramp, slid the tub off and got the work done. He told me a couple days. Honestly, I didnt believe him, but sure enough they were on-schedule until we discovered another issue that was nearly as much of a project as the first. Despite having me in a very vulnerable position, he gave me a fair price for the additional work and rescheduled other jobs to get me done. Even worked a weekend to stay on schedule. It was miserably hot and one day, muddy. Never a complaint from his crew. Just CAN DO attitude."

"I thought about an addition for several years; then interviewed and received bids from about 6 companies. I wanted a workroom with: * built-in storage cabinets and desk * space for the washer, dryer, freezer, and sauna. * ample space for my projects JB Construction’s bid was reasonable and fair. Joe is professional, honest, responsive, and easy to work with. He finds and hires quality subcontractors, and I am impressed with the work that was completed on my addition. He is hands-on, was involved in the process, and checked in often as the work progressed. He actually did quite a bit of the work himself. I really appreciated how Joe suggested improvements that I never would have thought of. These included enlarging the space from 280 to 320 sq ft, adding a sun tunnel when the skylight wouldn’t work with the roof line, a built-in cabinet where a window was removed, an exterior electrical outlet, and an overhead light in the corner cupboard. Joe was able to salvage and reuse the old brick on the front of the addition. This, along with the two original windows integrated the addition seamlessly with the rest of the house. It was done so perfectly; neighbors have asked where the addition was built. I’m extremely picky and am thrilled with my new addition. It’s lovely, functional, and my preferred room in my house. The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) ensures equal access and usability for individuals with disabilities. For example, people in wheelchairs or using walkers should have reasonable physical access to public spaces, like sidewalks, businesses, and government buildings. Accommodations and building modifications to achieve ADA compliance may include entrance ramps, handrails, and wider door openings.
The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requires doorways to be at least 32 inches of clearance to provide reasonable wheelchair access. It’s not that the doorway itself needs to be 32 inches wide, as the door hinge and other hardware may reduce the actual clearance by a few inches. In most cases, the door frame needs to be wider than that so that a person has at least 32 inches to pass through when the door is fully open. Most wheelchairs measure 25 to 36 inches in width.
Along with the cost of widening doorways, you may also invest in several other common house alterations and modifications. The average total cost to build a handicap-accessible house ranges from $700 to $8,000, depending on what changes you want to make. Adding grab bars and handrails can cost up to $500 while installing a stair railing costs $900. Installing a stair lift costs $1,500 to $5,000, whereas installing an elevator costs as much as $60,000. Other changes may involve lowering thermostats, remodeling bathrooms, widening hallways, and installing wheelchair ramps.
