"We can't say enough about Top Leader Construction. Like many people, we had to make a decision on if we should renovate our existing home or sell and try to find a new home. Ultimately we made the decision to hire Ron to design and build our dream home, specifically renovating the kitchen, adding a new family room addition, and building a master suite. From day one we knew we were in good hands. Ron listened to our needs and came up with a great plan from concept to design. Work began and the amount of care for our home, lifestyle, and craftsmanship was evident from the beginning. We are now using our completed kitchen and family room every day and it has become the center of our home. The attention to detail and building exactly what we wanted was unmatched. The team communicated with us constantly and everything was completed on time. As happy as we are that the job is done, we will miss seeing the entire team. We could not be happier with how the entire project went and would highly recommend to anyone."

"I originally contacted another company and was told I was out of their area.  They suggested I  contact one of their franchise stores for my area.  I decided that was too much trouble to try and figure out and called American Blind Crafters instead.  I'm glad I did.
Rick was very knowledgeable, professional, efficient, and responsive.  When I told him what I thought I wanted for different windows, he quickly produce books with samples and made suggestions for which materials would work for our needs.  He also let me know which companies were running sales on different types of shades I wanted.
We have an unusual shaped window and needed it cover for privacy and to keep the heat from the sun out during the summer. He made a couple of suggestions which were more inexpensive for this window but I wasn't thrilled with them.  This is a prominent window on the front of our house and I wanted it to look good on both the inside and outside.  I asked him to price a plantation shutter for this window.  After he did so, I understood why he had made the previous suggestions.  However, I went with the plantation shutter.  Rick said he thought it would be stunning and for the price I hoped he was right.  He not only was right about this window, but I was also pleased with his other suggestions.
I had ordered 4 different types of window shades or blinds.  Rick made 3 different trips to install them as they came in instead of waiting to do it all in one trip.  We greatly appreciated this since we were in a new home with no window coverings.  Each time he came to do an installation, he was on time and completed the work quickly.
I would use American Blind Crafters again and would highly recommend the company to anyone looking for this service.

"The plumber that worked on our house was very knowledgeable, professional and courteous. He was also willing to work around our dog. He also had some suggestions for things in the future. I am very happy with his work. I difinatly would hire this company again if need be."

FAQs for kitchen design service projects in Kansas City, MO

A professional kitchen designer is a specialist in planning and implementing the remodel of kitchen spaces. They'll help you pick materials and styles, give you a quote, render a model, and send the order to manufacturers and installers. You can think of them as creative project managers who will facilitate your kitchen project from start to finish.

No, a kitchen designer can't plan for structural remodeling since kitchen designers aren’t structural experts. Consult a pro for structural engineer fees and inquire about changes like removing a wall. Additionally, for changes to your kitchen's electrical, plumbing, or gas lines, you'll need to hire the appropriate professionals, like a licensed electrician or plumber near you.

A kitchen designer’s process includes the following:

  • Finding inspiration: They may ask for photos, feedback on material samples, and preferred fittings to understand your vision.

  • Using design tools: These include computer modeling software, 3D and high-resolution cameras for recording your space, color wheels, and sketches.

  • Considering appliances and fixtures: It’s important that each item is installed correctly, balances aesthetics and functionality, and is conveniently positioned in a kitchen work triangle.

  • Looking at the whole home: A designer will consider your home's age and style.

  • Writing up plans: After taking measurements, they create a plan based on your specifications.

It takes anywhere from 10 to 20 hours for a professional kitchen designer to come up with a fully fleshed-out plan for a mid-size kitchen. However, that time can increase if you ask for a complex, custom-designed plan. Ask your designer for a quote on both pricing and overall time frame before you start working together to ensure you're on the same page with expectations.

If you're doing an extensive kitchen renovation, hire a kitchen designer to manage the project and ensure things go smoothly for you. A major renovation may include new flooring, countertops, cabinets, lighting, and structural changes like knocking out a wall or upgrading the electrical, plumbing, or gas lines. If you're doing something more minor, like only replacing a sink or painting your cabinets, you can either pay for installation or DIY.
