"I would highly recommend Danny and his team. They removed carpeting and refinished the hardwood floors in the house that my wife and I bought. Danny and his team showed up early on the day work started, put down a few sample stains so that I could choose one, were very responsive throughout the process, and finished on time. And he is honest. I was considering replacing a few floor boards in one of the bedrooms because there were some gaps in the wood. Danny said he would replace them if I wanted to, which would have increased the price of the project a fair amount with the price of wood. But he recommended against it, saying he thought he could use wood filler and it wouldn’t be noticeable, and he was right. How’s that for trustworthiness? Turning down extra profit and saving us money, while still producing a great result. Would enthusiastically recommend Danny and his team to anyone who needs hardwood floor refinishing."

"I own residential property in Chicago which is over 100 years old and once had beautiful hardwood floors throughout. However, by the late 2010s, the floors were sadly past their prime and those glory days were but a distant memory. Over a century of neglect, changing tastes, and numerous remodels, past owners took the easy way out by replacing missing sections of flooring with plywood, ignoring basic upkeep, and simply covering up the damage (aka their crimes) with wall-to-wall carpet. Blasphemy I say! This trend shall have no place in a city where Mike and his team from Mike's Hardwood Flooring heroically fight back restoring one hardwood floor at a time! Every week, they courageously repair the damage caused by the cheap landlords and cut-rate contractors from Chicago's dark past! Lol...in all seriousness, I've used Mike several times now to refinish my existing hardwood floors as well as repair hardwood flooring that was damaged decades ago and hidden by carpet. I'm anti-carpet / pro-hardwood floor :) Over the past few years, Mike has restored all of the hardwood flooring in my own home as well as in several of my rental units to their former glory! As for Mike himself...he's responsive, knowledgeable, forthright, kind, and down-to-earth. Despite my eagerness to restore as much of the original wood as possible, Mike will actually take the time to discuss options and do a cost-benefit analysis (including the extent/history of damage, type of wood, the science, and labor involved, etc.). Although much of my original flooring remains, it could not always be done economically. Mike doesn't try to upsell you and rightfully steered me towards a less expensive option (of new hardwood) for a better result two weeks before posting this review. Which I very much appreciated! And the same can be said of his team as well, including George and Francisco, who go to great lengths to ensure that the floor you want is the floor you get (i.e. making sure you know what you can and can't do during the first few days after they finish). Included below are several before and after pictures and the results speak for themselves! I was particularly impressed how Mike and his team were able to beautifully restore the original wood on a set of stairs that were covered in a layer of tar (no idea why) and carpeted over. Rustic Flooring ( Marcel ) came out , sent his craftsmen out and did the job beautifully!!! They are skillful, courteous and a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend Marcel and his team."

"We had 2 areas of maple flooring that needed to be refinished. Including one area that had experienced water damage where a number of flooring boards needed to be replaced. The team from Footprints isolated those areas using plastic, and installed the new flooring, sanded both areas without the dust spreading anywhere else in the house. They applied appropriate stain and a finished coat. The floors turned out exactly how we wanted. We are very pleased with the work."

"Large 1st floor project. Entry way, hall closet, kitchen, powder room, living room and dining room - team installed luxury vinyl planks throughout. Also they installed 1/4 round trim to replace old trim. Job was estimated to take 2 day and they did complete on time. Also they did not try to sneak in charges or change the estimated price. I will use them again for my upstairs rooms. 100% satisfactory work."

"The kitchen floor looks brand new. Andrei replaced cracked or damaged maple boards, sanded the floor so the entire floor was level and sealed it with water-base sealer with a beautiful matted finish. It looks great. The remainder of the home has the original stained oak floors. Through the years many boards cracked & become unstable. He patiently removed the damaged boards, replaced the oak boards, sanded the boards to the same level as the existing flooring. He mixed the stain to match the existing floor stain color and urethane entire floor. The floor is now uniform in color, the patch repairs are not visibly different to the existing flooring when walking into the rooms. I am so pleased of the work performed and Andrei took his time to do it the right way and listened to what we wanted done."

We had asked for additional work to be done and his price was very reasonable and he easily adapted to what we wanted to do. He had a team that specialized in wood floors, banisters and door installations. They started and finished the job without interruption working 9am-5pm. They are very hard workers with attention to detail. Floors, baseboards, banisters, spindles, trim, closets, doors all looked perfect and many great suggestions were made by the owner along the way. George has been in the business for many years and has a very positive and friendly personality. This makes it easier for the homeowners like us to have dreams become a reality.
