"So much stalling, false information, and various other nonsense. It took them forever to do a small metal roof."

"I must say, I was very considerate to this company. I allowed them to correct their mistakes, gave them the benefit of the doubt. They had months, close to a year, to complete a grade three water damage situation including a new roof and new drywall. It's less than 30 days before insurance will stop paying out and unfortunately, they cannot be bothered to finish on time. They gave the "run around," didn't answer phone calls, tried to take advantage. I am sorry to say they will be defending themselves in court. It's most unfortunate. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone on the PLANET. May Jesus, the Better Business Bureau, the DBPR and anyone else I can find have mercy on their souls. I know I won't. Hey Frank, Tim and the several other people you passed us off to, I hope you all have a fantastic day. I cannot believe you all reviewed your own company. Insecure much?"

"Have been in the house now for three years. From day one has issues with the build of this house. Had to reconstruct one of the bathrooms because the construction was just poorly done. Just lazy work, cheaply supplies used.Just had to have the septic flushed and was told the pipes are layed incorrectly. The septic pipe is going upwards which it should be going downward...I would not recommend this company to build anything, not even a dog house. The drip is still heard in the house. Can't afford to get fixed and from day one we told them about the issues. The flooring is buckled because they put the flooring down and set the kitchen cabinets on top of the flooring. Short cuts were done all thru the house and it's just ridiculous! This builder wants to save themselves money at the cost of your expenses! WARNiNG DO NOT BUY A HOUSE FROM THeM U WILl ReGReT It. All of the fixtures under the sinks were all loose we found this out after we noticed water coming from under the kitchen sink. So my husband checked all other sinks and everything was just put in loose and left that way. Lucky we checked because that could have been catastrophic. The only thing that was good about the house was / is the floor plan! The shell was attractive but the construction IS POORLY DONE....Take heed to what I am saying and they will not help you to rectify anything! Now we are left paying the price! All the fixtures are rusted, so we will have to replace those... probably used scratch and dent appliances...imagine only 3 years and all these issues...BE AWARE OF THIS BUILDER and they aren't even builders come to find out they are flippers...after the fact my neighbor said she watched the build...it was a husband and wife and then whomever else they could get to finish it off...trying to find out and will find out who inspected this house...shame on them. UNHAPPY MASCOTTE HOME OWNER the walls are paper this, can literally be sitting in the front living room and hear the conversation in the garage..."

"It was a literal nightmare. Our roof was completely compromised by the gross negligence of the crew. Almost 5 months after signing the contract the crew shows up while we weren't home and unannounced removed the existing roof. A neighbor brought to their attention that a storm was predicted and was obviously coming our way. They proceeded anyway and covered haphazardly with tarps. A terrible thunderstorm rolled in that evening and rain poured in from every fixture, doorframe and window frame in the house. The owner would not speak to us at all but threatened by email to put a lien on our house if we didn't pay the balance owed. Unfortunately we did not read the contract b4 signing and it was clearly written that they were not responsible for any inside damage. The contract clearly covered all prior errors the company had made in the past. This guy is a con artist and a scammer. If you hire this guy READ THE CONTRACT CAREFULLY. This is only part of the **** this man put us through during our unfortunate interaction with this company and its owner."

"The problem with this company is they don’t honor their warranty. If you read the A reviews they are usually for the initial work the F reviews are because they don’t ever come back once they get your money. I filed a complaint with the BBB ( you can go to BBB website put in JJAM construction and read the complaints) this company said they would come back and fix my gutters but never showed up. They also say they have BBB accreditation but that was revoked due to many unresolved issues. Stay away from this company!! If they do decide to come and honor their warranty and fix my gutters I will update."

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Killarney, FL

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
