"They were great, came out to fix the problem next day. Checked that everything was working before they left for the day. Slight leak on toilet, came out to fix it. Very friendly and professional. "

"Wilcoxen plumbers have been very responsive and professional when dealing with a old plumbing system at our shared lake house. Maintenance on a 50 year old property can be challenging but the team from Wilcoxen have been able to meet that challenge and make the repairs promptly. We appreciate all that they have done for us."

"The plumber who came fixed the faucets, spoke on the phone with me about the repairs, then agreed to also check the faucets in the back yard for similar problems. After his report, I asked him to replace one of the back yard faucet connections, too."

"From start to finish, I have been dazzled by the level of service and courtesy from these folks. I begin shopping for someone to refinish the kitchen sink about three years ago. I located miracle method via Angies and they promptly gave me a very reasonable estimate. However, what with scheduling difficulties on my part and cash flow redirections, I did not get around to scheduling the service until a few weeks ago. Again, these folks were great. Cara picked right back up on the same estimate and got us on the work schedule right away. She was super careful and courteous about making everything as easy for me as possible. The refinishing process needed to be scheduled over two consecutive days, to give the new paint an opportunity to cure. Cara got me the dates and times I asked for and even called the day before to confirm that the dates were still convenient for me. The technician, Patrick, was at all times courteous, professional, and a real pleasure to work with. He called me before the appointments, showed up on time, worked for exactly the same length of time I was told he would be there, was meticulous about his protection of all the other surfaces in the kitchen, and even left the kitchen cleaner then he found it! He had a great attitude, even when having to work around the dogs. I have already recommended these folks to others and will do so at every opportunity. You just don't see this kind of service very often anymore. And I love my "new" sink! <br /> <br /> <br />"

"The experience was great, He had to remove a large section of concrete to repair an old capped out water line that previous owners had berried and then poured a slab on top of. He quoted me reasonable price, drew a contract with same price and didn't try to squeeze in additional charges. I would absolutely recommend his services to everyone i know."

"I first called Doug when my local plumber had an injury and recommended look in a neighboring town for another repair plumber. I called several different plumbing offices and only one had the courtesy to call me back within the hour. Doug was able to come out that evening and clear my septic drain with no issues whatsoever. Upon completion of the job, I had him look under the kitchen sink and ask if he might be available to repair/replace all the supply and drain lines under my kitchen sink and a new faucet. He gave a rough estimate with the stipulation that no major hurdles pop up. He said would prefer to do it in the AM since he will first come out, evaluate all that was needed parts wise and go pick them up. He was here as promised and even sent me a text to let me know him and his helper were on the way. As expected, he arrived and took his notes as to what he needed then explained to me all he was going to do. When he returned, he hopped to work and we were only without water for a short while. The intrusions were minimal and the only annoyance was from my kids wanting to watch and get in the way. He and his helper were extremely courteous to them. During the work, Doug let me know all he was doing and about future concerns about the high calcium build up in our lines. They worked quickly, efficiently, and cleaned as they worked. I was nothing but impressed with their professionalism! <br>The total came in a little higher due to issues unforeseen, just as he said might be the case, but well within what could be expected. After testing the lines and all the work was done, he walked me through the work completed and addressed any concerns and asked if there was anything else I might need or have concerns about. I had none! <br>I highly recommend Doug Powers to handle any and all plumbing needs. His work ethic, attention to detail, and professionalism should be highly sought after. He is the only plumber I have ever had tell me that he only does repair work and loves it. <br>--- Also, when scheduling the work, he told me that unless a customer has a leak or major issue, that my work <br>can wait since leaks are priority. I found that to bring my perception of his work ethic even higher than before then! <br>"

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Kingsland, TX

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
