"I hired Outdoor Visions to install almost 60 trees as a privacy hedge. Austin was friendly and very communicative, and he and his crew did a great job. They showed up on time, finished quickly, and cleaned up afterwards. I will definitely be hiring them again in the future!"

My name is Dusty Shook, I am the owner of ShookScapes LLC. Yes the name is new, but the business is not. I have been in the industry now for 20 plus years under the names Shook Lawn Maintenance and PamScapes LLC. Those 2 companies were ran and owned by my mom, Pam Shook. She is now after 30 plus years in the industry retiring and I am taking over and look forward to serving each and everyone in the north Georgia area under the new name ShookScapes. \nMy companies primary focus is “making your dream yard your reality.” The pictures I’m attaching below are just little snippets of my customers vision and my reality of making it happen. If you have been thinking and dreaming of a front yard or back yard oasis message me, email me or call. I will set up a time to meet up with you to create your very own dream yard!

"Excellent work. Pete responded promptly to my initial inquiry, came out ASAP to provide an estimate on the cracked step (and on a bigger "dream" project I've been thinking about), explained what had likely caused the damage, and gave me several options for either replacing the step just as it had been, or upgrading a little bit depending on my price range. His recommendations were good, and we didn't feel pressured at all, but the full reshaping of the step into a rounded one was a bit outside our budget so we took him up on enlarging it by several inches instead. Overall, Pete was friendly and professional, and had that air of experienced competence that you look for in someone doing work on your house. I didn't even bother getting a second estimate. I did, however, call a good friend who has worked in the brick industry for years, and he assured me that the price Pete quoted was right in line with what he would expect for my project if you want it done right. When I gave Pete the green light, he scheduled the work promptly, showed up in the morning on time a few days later, and knocked the whole project out by that same afternoon. Put simply, the step looks great. It was done promptly, in line with our budget and at the price Pete originally quoted, and our whole experience with him was easy and hassle-free. The new brick color is matched perfectly with the old brick (absent a decade of wear and tear obviously), as is the cement, and it is clearly quality construction. In sum, I would highly recommend PK Masonry to anyone, and I will definitely use him again if I can ever convince my wife to let me pull the trigger on that dream project I've been thinking about..."

"The proposal was the most complete and detailed of the five bids we received. The price was neither the highest nor the lowest, but demonstrated the best grasp of what I wanted. The project began on schedule, but we soon discovered why the stones were coming loose and cracking. The concrete base was cracking and dropping as it was installed without concrete rebar support. Israel Cabrera, the owner, and I agreed on what needed to be done and the price change. He then replaced the concrete base with rebar supported concrete and completed the job. Throughout the job , Israel was very easy to work with and willing to make changes. He made multiple trips with me to supply yards for me to pick out flagstone. He expertly supervised the work and did not hesitate to make his crew redo things not to his liking. His crew were skillful masons and cleaned up the job site thoroughly when finished. The finished product exceeded my expectations and we have a beautiful flagstone patio."

"Put in a request over the holidays to have a home we recently purchased inspected due to some concerns we had regarding the foundation. This included some floors over a crawl space, some cracking in the garage foundation and the floors in our living space over it. I was promptly contacted via email (how I contacted them on their site), scheduled an appointment and Wayne showed up promptly at the time agreed to. He seemed thorough in our discussion, very knowledgeable and took the time to address each one of my concerns. He did not attempt to scare or pressure me into purchasing services and in fact gave some recommendations for me to deal with what I was seeing and a path forward. He also gave a recommendation to a couple contractors for some crawl space issues that his company doesn't take care of. A lot of times when dealing with contractors and service companies, you rarely get a "warm fuzzy". Atlas was the opposite, I will monitor my issues and definitely contact them again if I see problems develop."

"First the Good News: <br /> <ul> <li>David honored an estimate from a year prior (well, within $500 anyway), which other providers could not do (in fact other providers were asking 15-20% more for the same job this year).</li> </ul> <br /> David responds to phone calls and texts during, throughout, and after the project to answer questions or address concerns. <br /> Entire crew was personable. <br /> Some Bad News: <br /> At end of 2nd day (1/2 day to prep, 1/2 day to pour), all but one of crew left, including owner who asked for check.  Project was looking good (pour in place and now smoothing--I was told remaining crew would simply need to clean up and we'd be set).  I wrote check and when I came out of the house an hour or so later I found a mess of plastic water bottles, concrete spills on the side of my property, all forming around concrete still in place, and a few equipment items lying off to the side.  I gave them the benefit of the doubt and assumed they'd be back to finish in the morning.  That didn't happen.  I called and left a message for Dave in the afternoon inquiring about when the project would be cleaned and completed. <br /> That night (24 hours after the project) heavy rains created pools of water and mud in the driveway.  The next morning I left a very clear message with Dave.  He responded quickly from out-of-town and told me that if he couldn't get an employee over to finish the job that day (Saturday), that he would personally come on Monday.  In the meantime I popped out the forming at the bottom of the driveway myself to drain the water, ran a hose to assess proper draining and cleaned up the bottles and trash.   <br /> By Monday eveningI was ready to stop payment of the check, but one of the crew showed up around 6:30 PM and got to the cleaning and finishing.  After a couple of hours he told me that his saw was not working and that he'd have to come back again the next night to finish the line cutting.  As it turned out Dave himself came out to perform the line-cutting the next night (Tuesday), and the project was finally complete. <br /> Good News again: <br /> The sloping driveway drains well (not perfect, but likely as close to it as one could reasonably expect.  It looks great! <br /> <br />"

FAQs for interlocking pavers for patios, walks & steps installation projects in Kingston, GA

To calculate your paver needs:

  • Determine how many pavers cover a square foot.

  • Determine how many square feet you need.

  • Add an additional 10% to 20% for breakage and waste.

  • Consider your pavers’ sizes.

Or, you can hire a local pro who you know will get the right measurements the first time. This way, you get your weekend back instead of spending it measuring square footage.

A pallet of pavers costs $300 to $700 on average, and each pallet covers 56 square feet. The exact price depends on the type, size, and quantity of pavers you choose. Buying in bulk can sometimes offer additional savings, especially for larger projects. Ask your pro how you can save on material costs.

To get the best prices on pavers:

  • Hire a professional landscaper: Pros often receive discounts on materials, which can make hiring them more cost-effective overall.

  • Shop at local building supply stores: Check for overstock or bulk purchase deals. Bulk purchasing can be more costly up front but save you money in the long run.

  • Buy directly from manufacturers: Purchasing from a local brickyard or paver factory can offer competitive prices, especially for large quantities.

The main difference between driveway pavers and patio pavers is their load-bearing capacity. Driveway pavers are designed to withstand the weight of vehicles, whereas patio pavers aren’t suitable for such heavy loads. You can use driveway pavers for a patio, but using patio pavers for a driveway could lead to damage. Always check the weight limits of pavers and consult with a professional installer to choose the right type for your project.

Paver patios cost more than concrete patios because the materials and installation methods require advanced techniques and skilled labor. They deliver enhanced aesthetic appeal and allow for easier small‑scale repairs without affecting property taxes. The higher expense arises from premium paver materials and intricate installation processes that deliver long‑lasting durability and design flexibility. This robust solution provides notable benefits over concrete alternatives, making it a valuable investment for homeowners.
